Furthermore, I would like to be a part of medical
research that effects a large group of research, akin to the research I am currently completing at Brock University. As such, it necessary that I have a solid background in statistics. Therefore, I could take Principles of Biostatistics and Data Analysis, Introductory Statistics for Social Research, Statistical Analysis of Biological Data, and Statistical Methods in Bioinformatics.
I also have a deep interest in ethics, philosophy and behavior. Why do people make certain choices when faced with an ethical dilemma? What makes an individual and individual? Therefore, I would take Public Health Law and Ethics, Moral Emotions, Moral Theories, The Place of Persons, Culture and Human Behavior, and The Psychology of Race, Class, and Gender.
Lastly, I am quite fond of languages. I have been enrolled in a French immersion program for the last eight years, and would like to continue learning French, as well as other languages. Therefore, I could take Intermediate French II, First-Year Arabic, and Basic Chinese.
By balancing courses based in medicine and scientific research, with courses based in philosophy and language, I have a curriculum that allows me to stimulate both sides of the brain and become a well-rounded doctor.
