In this stage Piscine arrives on the shores of Mexico after 227 days at sea. When he stumbles on to the island Richard Parker leaves him this hurts Pi but in a way he understands. Stage number eight is The Resurrection this is usually a final test where everything is at stake and the hero must use everything he has learned. This is not really the case for Piscine in this stage what happens to him is he spends time recovering in a hospital somewhere in Mexico where he tells to Japanese agents what had happened to him.
