KLOPFENSTEIN AMPHITHEATER, Marion
Iowa’s newest venue opened in May 2014 in Lowe Park in Marion. Giant metal burr oak leaves form a dramatic canopy for the stage which accommodates local bands, high school plays, regional performers and even weddings.
MCGRATH AMPHITHEATRE, Cedar Rapids
Located on the banks of the Cedar River across from downtown Cedar Rapids, this amphitheatre opened in Fall 2013. This summer's line-up includes Gavin DeGraw, Matt Nathanson, Everclear, Eve 6, Uptown Friday Nights, movie nights and more.

FRED MAYTAG BOWL, Newton
Built in 1936 by the Maytag Family, this venue was recently updated and renovated. The BOWLFUL OF BLUES, produced by the South Skunk Blues Society, is a popular annual event in August.

SIMON ESTES AMPHITHEATER, Des Moines
The popular NITEFALL ON THE RIVER concert series takes place at this amphitheater along the Des Moines River in downtown Des Moines. Catch Yonder Mountain String Band, Sister Hazel, Ingrid Michaelson, Fitz and the Tantrums and others this summer.

RIVERLOOP AMPHITHEATRE, Waterloo
Catch free Friday night concerts at this venue on the banks of the Cedar River near the Waterloo Center for the Arts. A nearby splash pad and play area is perfect for the kids.

Shades of Rhythm Amphitheater, Waverly
Designed by two Iowa State University students, the new amphitheater at Kohlmann Park (slated to be open in time for RAGBRAI 2014) will feature curved wooden ribs accented with recycled glass.

    On February 22nd 2013, I had my first bargemusic at Fulton Street pier in Brooklyn. Bargemusic is an old barge that converted into a chamber music hall. It was a great pleasure to have such a terrific concert on a Friday night. The internal of the barge was so classical with aged wall chairs. In the middle of the room is a stage with a piano that was shining when lights were facing above it.
