Once upon a time I reach a great state, but I was disabled. It sucked.. Without fear there cannot be courage
Fear drives the unthinkable out of us

What gives you courage when there is none?
What gives you courage to get out of bed?
What gives you courage to drive when you know it's dangerous?
What gives you courage to succeed?
What gives you courage to survive?
What gives you courage to strive?

People have courage to live for their children
People have courage to live for themselves
People have courage to live for hope
People have courage because they believe
People have courage to not give up

Fear is not the essence of life
But a free soul not tamed

Courage is the journey of your heart
Guided by strength
On a path of untamed obstacles

Let courage guide you
As you begin your quest What is the journey to success?
Success is not gained by defeat
Success does not occur over night
Success can emerge at any age

Success is working to full potential
Success is courage
Success is lending a hand
Success is not listening to negativity
Success is being positive
Success is living your life instead of the life of others
Success is being proud
Success is overcoming obstacles
Success is striving
Success is listening to your heart

Most of all success is accepting
What you have accomplished Trust is earned
But once violated
It’s difficult to regain

When do you trust?
Who do you trust?

You trust with your mind
You trust with your heart
You trust with honor
You trust with pride
You trust with expectations
But is putting trust in someone worth it?

Tell me, is it?

I’ve tried to trust
But ended up with betrayal
And cannot allow it to occur again

I opened my mind
Opened my heart
But only received
A shattered heart
Now I know not to trust so easily

    There is several things that I would have to say I have had to use to make sure that I have continued on the course of action in spite of obstacles and that I have had to use to maintain my focus. Just to name a couple of obstacles that I have had to overcome being injured while I was in the United States Army, dealing with the everyday pain from those injuries, making the decision to go back to school and get my degree, maintaining a grade point average of better than a 3.0 and that is just a couple the list could go on and on.     Mainly my religion. I am a catholic so my faith in God and his promises gives me strength and courage. My other sources for my strength are my sisters. I have five sisters and it is my responsibility to be courageous for them in order to keep them safe and teach them how to be strong and courages themselves. There is a bible verse I think of when I am in need of courage: “So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the LORD your God will personally go ahead of you. He will never fail you nor abandon you” ( Deuteronomy 31:6). Reading this scripture reminds me that I will never be alone and God will not give me an obstacle I cannot overcome. “You have to be strong for your sisters” is something I was always told growing up. Being the second oldest out of six daughters I had a lot of responsibility. One of those responsibilities was being strong for my sisters. As we faced difficulties and tragedies I had to be the one my sisters could lean on. I believe that is why most of my courage comes from God. Given that I do not have the closest bond with my parents, I only had trust in God as problems arise. As an older sister it is my duty to be able to compose myself and reassure my sisters that everything will be okay and nothing bad will happen to them. And at times I just wanted to vent all my feelings and emotions out but I had to be the one to deal with all the difficulties when no one else would. I have to be the refuge for my sisters. “But those who trust in the LORD will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint” (Isaiah 40:31). This verse inspires me to leap into acts of courage. Even if I have doubts about the action God will be by my side providing me with strength and will not leave me alone. I can only succeed when acting in courage. If I do nothing, nothing will change.
