Lord Of The Flies Civilization Vs Civilization Analysis

After a plane crash, a group of boys are stranded on an island. The boys start a small society. Ralph, the main character, become chief of their society. In the beginning, their society is civil they have rules and they live right. However, one of the boys, Jack, rebels against Ralph. Jack starts a tribe that is uncivil. All the older boys join Jack’s tribe except five boys. The boys that join Jack’s tribe became savages. Jack’s tribe is against Ralph and anyone that sides with Ralph. Two boys die because of all of the boys fear and hatred. Ralph is the only one left on his side because all of his friend were either killed or taken into the tribe. Jack decides to hunt Ralph. In the beginning, the boys start off civil with a leader, shelters, and rules. “ “That’s what this shells called. I’ll give the conch to the next person to speak. He can hold it when he’s speaking.” ” The conch is a symbol of civilization. It kept order and encouraged the boys to have respect for each other. However, the boys turn to savagery. The become lazy and rebellious. Also, they start wearing war paint and lose faith in being rescued. “ “I’ve been watching the sea. There hasn’t been the trace of a ship.
