Luminous Mystery Research Paper
We covered many covenants in this semester and after learning about each of these covenants we learned about the luminous mysteries. I think that there is a really good connection between the Covenant with David, and the luminous mystery of the Proclamation of the Kingdom. In the covenant with David God promised him a son, Solomon, and that his son would also be God’s son. God said that they would have a special relationship, his son would build him a temple, and God would establish his kingdom forever. He also promised that he would never turn away from him and if he should ever sin, God would discipline him but never turn away from him. This is shown in 2 Sam 7 12-17"When your days are fulfilled and you rest with your fathers, I will set up your …show more content…

I will be his Father, and he shall be My son. If he commits iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men and with the blows of the sons of men. But My mercy shall not depart from him…” This quote connects a lot to the proclamation of the Kingdom because although it speaks of Solomon these promises are all later fulfilled by Jesus. Jesus became man and was the son of God, he established the kingdom of God here on earth that will last forever, and God’s mercy will never leave Jesus. However God needed Jesus to proclaim the Kingdom of God to help us understand that is within us, this is shown when Jesus says,"Repent, for the kingdom of God is at hand."My kingdom is not of this world.”, "Unless a man be born again of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of heaven.", "Whoever does not accept the kingdom of God as a little child will not enter into it.", "I have come to call sinners, not the just.", "Love your enemies, pray for those who persecute you.", "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.", "Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for justice, for they shall be satisfied.", "Blessed are they who suffer persecution for justice' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of

God seeing Solomon new found of love said to him, “Forasmuch as this is done of thee, and thou hast not kept my covenant and my statutes, which I have commanded thee, I will surely rend the kingdom from thee, and will give it to thy servant.” (APA, KJV, 1 Kings 11:11) Before the sins of Solomon, he was obedient and God granted him wisdom to rule the people of Israel. God gave Solomon more than he asked for; he gave him riches and honor. With the newfound wisdom, he was able to build a temple in Jerusalem. His pride slowly overtook his growth in the Lord. Solomon ended up relying on his riches than the wisdom God had anointed on him, leading him to engage in ungodly activities. His disobedience leads to the weak monarchy in Israel resulting in the Kingdom being dived into a North and a South…

claim to be god , but he did not say it in the clearest words words such as "I am god" but did we need him to say it that way, no we did not, that fact that Jesus refers to the father and him being one spells it out to us that he is say he is god." Again the high priest asked him, “Are you the Messiah, the Son of the Blessed One?” “I am,” said Jesus." Mark 14:60-64 this is from Jesus' trial where he is being cross examined by the high priest. This is the closest you can get to Jesus saying that he is god. Jesus and god had a very powerful relationship with god, sometimes claiming to be one with god and other times referring to god a father, or "Abba"…

It was a trifling matter and yet it seemed dishonoring to God’s anointed king; and as such it hurt David to have done it. David stooped with his face to the earth, and bowed down saying, “My Lord the King!” The words of a humble, tender conscience before God.…

When Jesus speaks of the Kingdom of God His focus is on how people get into the kingdom, and how they need to live now. He taught that we enter His kingdom when we seek to live our lives in a reflection of that Kingdom and we respond to God with faith and allegiance. Peter had a difficult time understanding Jesus’ messianic role but after the transfiguration he began to understand that Jesus alone would fulfill God’s plan. This essay will trace the major teachings of the Kingdom and the growing conflict between Jesus and the Jewish leaders of the time as well as how this conflict ultimately led to the crucifixion of Christ.…

When we pray as Christ taught us we find ourselves saying, “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” When the will of God is obeyed, the kingdom, the reign of God is made present. It is easier to say this than it is to enact it. Every time I sin I put the kingdom of God away from me: but God’s will cannot be thwarted. It is up to me to remain within God’s kingdom, for if the gates close while I am without I will find myself in the eternal darkness where there is wailing and gnashing of teeth. And as Christ warns us, “But of that day and hour no one knows.” (Mt…

During the time of King David and King Solomon evolves as the golden age of Israel. Manifestly, David stands as being, ‘after God’s own heart;’ which his writings romantically suggest. Thus saith the lord is directly quoted from Jeremiah 29. This whole portion alludes back to the prophets of the lord going around and spreading the word of the gospel which shows how King feels about the spreading of the word. He obviously feels that the word he is spreading is ethical in the fact that it brings people together in unison and that it is the way to salvation. He also mentions the apostle Paul proving that he was alluding to the bible and those days.…

Gods Kingdom is within. When believers work for Gods Kingdom , it simply means, bringing others to the saving knowledge of Christ. Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life no man cometh unto the Father, but by me (John 146). Therefore, the JWs claim that there will be a selection of persons to rule with Christ is false.…

By searching for a deeper interpretation of the events of the bible, King was able to extract a sense of meaning from Jesus’ life. For King, God’s giving of his only son, came to represent God’s infinite love and forgiving nature toward all human beings. By believing in God’s love for humans, King was able to mimic Jesus’ forgiveness, by fighting for equal rights between black and white citizens, even though white citizens had abused and discriminated against him; suggesting in his speech Strength to Love, that “we must have compassion and understanding for those who hate us”.…

He proposed that we as people were put on this earth not to be good but to do good, meaning we are born by God not commanded to do good but we have the choice to do good with the right knowledge given to us. We as humans make the decisions to do right or wrong, we have a choice between following God and Jesus or fall down the wrong path, we have the power to make the proper decisions in life. We must understand agape and knowing that we must forgive those who are our enemies because that is the best form of revenge you can give someone who's done you wrong; you must love those who love you, but love those even more who've done you wrong. He says this because forgiveness the strongest power in Gods eyes to show someone that you can forgive those who've trespassed against us to help us from falling to darkness. When Jesus told the Pharisees that the kingdom is within him he was telling them for as long as the have there heart and mind with God his kingdom will always be with them therefore they must not look for his kingdom as a figure form that only comes when good is being done, however they shall look at it as if trust and faith are put into God his kingdom will always be within them. Kenosis is the center of the theory behind all of Jesus theory because kenosis is the rejection of Gods nature of others by the out come of Christ's suffering pain as a human.…
