M1 ANALYSE DIFFERENT TYPES OF BUSINESS INFORMATION AND THEIR SOURCES
Introduction
Business organisation use business information to communicate within the company and outside the company. This information comes from all different variety of sources. From information written in P1 I will analyse the different type of business information and their sources used by BBC.
Verbal information
Verbal information is the way of communicating between individuals through speech. This type of information is the best way of communicating, but it is also not very sufficient. Since Verbal information is used in our everyday life at BBC verbal information can take place in different situations e.g. in meeting employees may communicate to each other through face to face and a customer may call the BBC customers service asking for help.
The benefit of verbal information to BBC, is that through speech complex ideas are expressed and discussed immediately At BBC during a meeting staffs are able to communicate direct enabling them to take action immediately either though examining or debating the idea. It also gives for opportunity of immediate feedback in order to make sure that the information was or was not understood. The disadvantages of verbal information is that miscommunication can take place which could result the person to miss interpret the information received upon hearing. The information can also not be recorded in terms of individuals communicating face to face.
Written information
Any method of communicating made by writing is called written information. This information is also one of the mainly method used by business organisations. It may come from different sources e.g. newspaper magazines and reports etc. At BBC human resource may use written information through email to remind an employee about an upcoming training course and an employee may write a letter to the company asking for a holiday.
The advantage of written information is that it provide accurate information (since the mistakes can be corrected) and it also proves
