I completely agree with the article; the Daguerreian age most definitely had a major effect on the course of history. More important events were recorded on these devices, new medias, such as movies, newspapers with photos, etc. emerged from such a milestone, and one didn’t have to travel around the world to witness its grace. For example, in the United States, the Civil War was in its midst, and the Union used photographs, mainly daguerreotypes, of dead soldiers and battles during the war to stir feelings in the households. Morale in the military grew, and public backing for the war increased. This is one of the thousands of examples of the photographs’ importance, and it would never be as advanced as it was during these times without the Daguerreian
