From humble beginnings as a cartoon studio in the 1920s to today's global corporation, The Walt Disney Company continues to provide proudly quality entertainment for every member of the family, across America and around the world.
Walter Elias Disney, founder of the Walt Disney Company, was a pioneer in the development of animation as an industry.
The Disney mission statement reveals its unique formula for making profits, which is different from most other major U.S. corporations that focus on profit from a strictly financial viewpoint. Disney’s mission, in contrast, focuses on the intangibles that make the Disney brand unique and distinct, and from those intangibles, the Disney profits flow.

One of the reasons why Disney has a reputation of delivering a seamless "magical" experience to its guests in all of its operations - theme parks, hotels, restaurants, retail stores, etc. - is because it has one overriding vision and mission for all of its business operations.
