Question
To what extent is the study of management theory and practice indispensable to the business managers?
Introduction
The business today is so complicated to the extent that it needs highly trained managers who can push the organization and reach the desired goal. At this point it does not matter how far a manager knows the management theories but what matters is knowledge and practice of these management theories. He is therefore required to be a goal oriented who can be able to organize both human and non-human resources for efficient operation of the business.
Definition of terms
Management theory
Management theory can be defined as a collection of ideas which set forth general rules on how to manage a business or organization. It also addresses how managers relate to their organizations in the knowledge of its goals, the implementation of effective means to accomplish the organization goal and how to motivate employees to increase their performance.
