SCM in Action: Report on SCM at “Company X”
INTRODUCTION
An efficient SCM plays a vital role in the success of any organization. A supply chain system has to be designed carefully, as it normally takes years to build and is not easily change. Thus, to understand the supply chain concepts in action, students of ICB47203 are required to visit (and prepare a report) organizations/industries in order to have an insight into their supply chain management.
PROJECT OBJECTIVES 1) As a way for students to learn about the industry from “concept to consumer”. 2) To bring the tools and techniques of supply chain and logistics management to life. 3) To understand SCM today and tomorrow.
INSTRUCTION
Students are given the freedom to visit any organization/industry (textile, food processing, automotive, courier etc.) they like. Upon the visit, students are required to prepare a report and present their findings at the end of current semester (week 13).
