Subject: Carnival Student Tour Package Inquiry
Ms. Kiklas,
Your message regarding student package deals has prompted me to send you a response. We, at Carnival cruise lines, would like to thank you for thinking about our cruise line as an option for these students. Carnival cruises has reached the number one spot by appealing to younger customers. Unfortunately, Carnival has made many changes in the recent past:
According to the editor-in-chief of Cruise Week, Mike Driscoll, the partying of many high school and college students caused many travel agents to complain
Changed policies in 1997 in relation to underage drinking and partying from the age of 18 to 21 and required more chaperoning of school groups
The problem was still present so Carnival stated that no persons under the age of 21 without supervision of an adult over the age of 25 will be allowed on the ship
Carnival cruise lines discourage chaperoned tours
Vice president of marketing, Vicki Freed, claims, ““We will turn them back at the docks, and they will not get refunds.”
Now more of a family-oriented cruise with more fun-filled, exotic destinations that allow our guests to escape from everyday troubles
Carnival now attracts more than one million people from around the world every year with a 98% approval rate
Carnival does not believe that your students are unruly and disruptive, but I am sorry to inform that since there are no exceptions to this rule. I will not be able to assist you in your pursuit of finding a package deal at Carnival for students. Please message me back if you have any other questions or inquiries. I will be very happy to help you. We hope you and your current students find another option. Carnival would be happy to have all of you on our cruise lines as soon as these terms have gained approval. Thank you for your understanding!
Safe travels,
Eric Rivera
