Marble Champ By Gary Soto
In the story ‘’Marble Champ’’ by Gary Soto, lupe is someone that wants to be good at something other than school.But as I read I learned that lupe is someone that people would admire. This is because she's smart,hardworking,and a good sport.
The first reason lupe is someone to admire is because she's smart. Shes smart by being a straight A student and by getting A’s means she studied hard and did all of her homework and stayed on top of her work. Another reason why lupe is smart is because she was the champion at chess.Which being good at chess means a lot because chess is a game of strategy.Strategy is a hard thing to do and being a champion at chess that means you have great strategy and strategy means you're smart.
Another reason lupe
is someone to admire is because she is hardworking. An example of her being hardworking is that she did 20 push ups on her finger tips, to add on everyone knows that push ups are hard but doing 20 push ups on your finger tips that seems impossible.Another way lupe is hardworking is she squeezed an eraser 100 times.So thats why lupe is hardworking and someone to admire.
The last reason lupe is someone to admire is because she's a good sport.The first example of lupe being a good sport is that she felt sorry for the girl when she won the game,and feeling sorry for someone you just beat is a hard thing to do because all you usually want to do is brag.Another example of lupe being a good sport is that she told the girl she was a great player even though she was being mean to lupe.To add on its hard not to be mean back but instead of being mean she invited her to her team witch i would not have done that.So thats why lupe is a good sport and someone to admire.
