Mark Ramont Film Analysis
Acting as a whole was perfect because I did not find any mistakes during the production. It was like I am watching a movie, but the only difference was that it was live. Not many actors can do what these actors did during the show and I am sure that it took them a lot of practice to make it perfect. Director Mark Ramont was phenomenal for putting the entire production together. It was well directed and I could not say any negative thing about it at all. I would usually find one thing that a director did wrong, but with Director Mark Ramont, he did not fail to impress me throughout the show. Scenic Designer Christopher Schmidt made the stage very realistic. The second I walked into the theater I was impressed of how beautiful the set up was. …show more content…

Costume Designer Bruce Goodrich did a such a great job picking the costume for every cast member because the color of every clothing was really good on their skin tone and the fit suited them perfectly. Lighting Designer John Favreau made the stage looked realistic. Even though it was a stage play it really felt like I was at the house with the cast. There was not much of lighting changed, but the scenery looked a lot better because of the way the lighting was set up. Sound Designer Kyle Alcaino did every single sound on time. Even though I did not notice much sound track throughout the play, I think that every time I hear the sound it was perfect for the scene. Makeup/Hair Designer Kaylee Truenow made the cast looked really smooth and perfect. Even though it was not a lot of work for make up like Into the Woods required, it still looked natural and it suited each character …show more content…

I felt like I was apart of the production when I was watching it because I was very close. In addition, the humor of the show really made me happy because I have not been to a comedy theater show before because I have always thought that it was always a serious production. What was effective about them was that they were able to create a show that was hilarious and the audience really enjoyed every single of it including myself. I find myself having a hard time to actually laugh at comedy shows unless they are really funny and this show pushed me above and beyond because I was laughing during the entire show and I would want to see it again. The show was effective as a whole because Director Mark Ramont made sure that the entire production will come out the best it could possible be. I believe that every single detail of the show was chosen perfectly and I would have not asked for a better

It was revolutionary to have such a different way of viewing a film between judging the characters by both their dialogue and their actions for long periods of time during their performances. It felt like a musical although it had no singing in the way that you could judge and feel for each individual character as they performed. High Noon and The Quiet Man were both good but they were not anything drastically different from other films of the era. They had many high and low angle shots and lighting to distinguish the good from the bad. Although the characters were understandable, there was never really a clear deeper meaning that could be scene from the film techniques like they did in The Greatest Show on Earth.…

    Avenue Q Play Analysis

I like the set design of the play it looks realistic it seems like you are living in moment. For example, the wall was made of wood but the color contrast gave a realist impression. Also, the set design is important because it gives idea to audience where the setting of the play is located. Although the building in this play were relatively new, the original Broadway play set design was very worn out. In my opinion, if the play was old then the set design should look like the original Broadway play because on Avenue Q middle and lower class family leave. The apartment look like they leave on Avenue A. In additional, the costume is also important so the audience can figure out who they are. I think costume also show the personality of a character like upper, middle, and lower class and the costume designer of this play did great work. Especially, when two or three character wearing black cloths and the puppets were in red, blue, and green this shows the color…

The acting in this play was great. The actor I was looking most forward to was Brooke Shields. Honestly don’t think that she was that great. It could have just been the character of Morticia, but after it was all over I felt like she stood out the least. To be fare it could have just been that she was having a bad night though because when she was handing out autographs after the play she apologized for not doing well. The other star, Roger Rees, was pretty good. He definitely was not my favorite part of the show, but he did a good job playing Gomez. He was somewhat dry, but he had enough to keep him memorable. Adam Riegler was the young boy who played Pugsley. He did an outstanding job and unfortunately wasn’t a huge part of the show. I would have liked it if they had involved him in a few more scenes. The best part of the show was definitely Rachel Potter in the role of Wednesday. She blew everyone else out of the water in terms of her acting and singing. She was the true star of the show in my opinion. The way she acted really made the audience want things to work for her and the character Lucas. The actors Heide Blickenstaff and Adam Grupper did a good job in the role of Lucas’ parents. I feel that they did there job in being good character foils to Gomez and Morticia. Jesse Swenson was another actor that I thought did great. He played Wednesdays love interest Lucas. He did a fantastic job and was almost as good as Rachel Potter. Another role which I was disappointed in was Brad Oscar…

To be completely honest, I would have to say that majority of the acting was very mediocre. I know it wasn’t supposed to be like something off of Broadway but I expected a lot more, and I felt like only a couple of actors came through with that. The acting was not terrible, but it wasn’t spectacular either. I felt like some characters were not putting their all into their characters. I also felt like some people should not have been casted into the roles they had received. Many times a background character would outshine a main character during the performance. Pertaining to the acting, I think that the fact that it was a musical added more stress to the actors which consequently could have placed a strain on their acting abilities. This is because they were most likely more concerned with their vocals. Something I did like in their acting was the fact that they used little children, I found that very adorable.…

The actress who played Claire portrayed the character well. From the beginning to the end she really captured the characters and her emotions. When she first entered on stage I was confused of what was going as she was walking aimlessly across the stage but later realized that was the whole point. She wanted the audience to believe she was confused and lost; and she did. I notice her break the fourth wall every now and then as she looked into the audience. I suppose it was part of the scrip to interact with the audience because she mostly did it when she was on the side doing random things with the people in tight pants. Her entrances where perfect every time, even though the scenes where being switched off between her and Richard in the car, she never seen to loose focus. You could clearly see every expression on her face which made it more realistic to the audience.…

The characters were satisfactory. Although they were loud and energetic, they did not articulate their words. I could not understand anything that they were saying. I left out of the theatre knowing sixteen words: Rudolph, the, red, nose, reindeer, snow, pay, rent, moon, fuck, you, light, my, candle, Roger, and please! In fact, every line was sung. I felt like the characters were singing at me not to me. In addition, they were all over the place; the characters did not do a good job at conveying the story of Jonathon Larson, throughout the musical they kept running around, jumping, and screaming. By them doing that, it did not…

    Our Town Play Summary

I could hear every word that was said on the stage and it was great the way they said some of the words made it seem like the play was written in modern times not the early 1900s. The motions that the actors made were very realistic. Like they said if they didn’t know how or was unsure of the movements that were supposed to be made they took the object and opened it or did what they needed to to then they would wean off of it. Some of the things that they did were very modern and I don’t know if I liked that about it. They were very interesting to watch because they never lasted too long on a movement or never dwelled on a saying and that made them easier to watch.…

It was a full house with standing room only. It was obvious that the audience was mostly parents and other assorted family members. I found that their excitement was catching and also a bit of an irritant as they clapped after every scene. I am more familiar with an experienced crowd that claps only at the end of a production. But we are dealing with an all child cast, so I somewhat understand the exuberance. The set was nice without being overly complicated. I was somewhat disappointed in the costumes because they made me feel that I was at a school performance, rather than a professional show. The sound and lighting at times were not in rhythm with the actors as they entered and exited stage. This caused a delay in scenes at times, as they let the music finish before diming the lights for a scene change. This left the stage empty with full lights at…

I did enjoy the production by relating to the characters and to the work they do for a living. I did not like how there was multiple stories and not just one story that enfolds into a happy ending. Some of the areas that I assisted from Day 1 to strike were: the helping out back stage with the cast, helping set the props for the scenes and taking part of the musical as a…

Lastly, the writing and dialogue of the musical was great. There were characters who had comical stories that helped lighten up the sad stories. I personally think the show had the perfect amount of emotions tied into it, ranging from happy to tragic to hilarious. In my opinion, the personal stories were perfectly assigned to the actors and actresses because their roles felt so real that their stories felt almost as if it was his/her true life story. Because all of the stories interconnected to each other in a unique way, it made the storyline even better than I had…

    Othello Critique

This last show that we currently produced here at Hutchinson Community College which was Othello was a show that I wasn’t used too for different reasons. The first one was that I have never seen a production of Othello at all so I had no clue of what to expect with not only the acting but the design aspects of it as well. There were four design aspects that were different to me which were set, sound, costume and lights. None of these aspects are really my forte, these past two years is where I have been introduced to these four design aspects so my knowledge and my level of critiques are probably not the best but I am going to try and explain my thoughts on each and every one of them.…

My favorite part of the production was the joy on the faces of the actors and actresses. You could see and feel the excitement and pure enjoyment of presenting this presentation for the audience. I have been to several presentations in my life time and I have never felt such a sense of happiness in the air like I did with Beauty and the Beast at Walters State Community College. The young children in the audience were dressed in the yellow Belle dress and the air in the auditorium was wonderful.…
