The tallest mountain known in the solar system is on Mars. Many people on Earth are actually interested in going to and living on Mars, however, it should not be colonized. To be able to colonize Mars will be risky, the food will not be what humans are used to on Earth, and the trip to Mars is only one way.
The trip to Mars will take about nine months and it is a very risky mission to those colonists who choose to do it. Colonists living on Mars are in for a risky life. Even though the astronauts are in a space suit they could still die if there is a crack in their helmet because of the deadly radiation. There is hardly any oxygen, and the cold temperatures of -80 degrees Fahrenheit will be unbearable. In addition, the colonists are leaving so many things like their family, friends, pets, and their favorite foods! The people who are going to Mars are making a very risky decision.
Shipping food from Earth to Mars would take too much time and be too expensive. The only way to grow food would be in special greenhouses.
