Martin Luther King Jr. “Freedom is never voluntarily given by the oppressor; it must be demanded by the oppressed.” Martin Luther King Jr. was born January 15, 1929, Atlanta GA.He married Coretta Scott King, they married June 18th, 1953, and they lived in Atlanta GA. He died April 4,1968 at the age of 39. He had 2 sons Martin Luther King the 3rd, and Dexter Scott King. He also had 2 daughters their names are Yolanda King, and Bernice King. In this I will be telling you why Martin Luther King Jr is BRAVE, FRIENDLY, and NON VIOLENT.
Brave: Martin Luther King Jr.is brave to me because,he stood up for his beliefs and spoke his mind. He would take part in boycotts. He was very determined and inspirational. When his father passed, Martin Luther King Jr. took his place and he became a minister. At 18 he was ordained into his father's church. He was helping African Americans. He also fought for equal writes. A famous quote by Martin Luther King Jr. was “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation that they will not be judged by the color of their skin,but by the content of their character.”
Non Violent: Martin Luther King Jr. was non violent because his house was bombed. But his response to that was to not to fight violence but to fight with words. He was so against violence that he was the youngest person to win the NOBEL PEACE PRIZE. In 1965 Martin Luther King Jr. led a drive to register African American voters in Selma, Alabama. The drive met the violent resistance but they didn’t use violence.
