If there are some this year especially the ones that involve a cop making a horrible decision like some of the incidents last year, I hope the media doesn’t give them all the attention. I believe all the attention that the media gives them blows things out of the water and that is when people start rioting. I also believe when those people were rioting in Ferguson, Missouri even though it is probably a hard thing not to broadcast all over the news simply because that is what most those people are rioting for is to seek the most attention that they can get. The two that I saw were the one where the officer was next to the window of the car that he pulled over. The passenger was a black male and the driver was a black female. When the officer asked if they had any weapons on them the man said yes. He never made a move toward his gun however the officer got a little worried an panicked and shot the man two time in the chest. What I think he should have done was once the man said that he had a gun he should have asked the man to step out informing him that he was not under arrest and that he just doesn’t want anything bad to happen to the both of them. As soon as the man gets out of the car he should have pat him down and got the gun off of him. That way he continue to go about his job without having to worry about the man pulling the gun out on him. The officer ended up getting charge with Manslaughter as which he should have because I don’t believe he handled that situation very well. Philando Castile had a pretty clean record as he worked for the Saint Paul Public School District. However, this was not a case that could have been characterized by white vs black because the officer that shot Philando Castile was Mexican
