Marijuana is the most illegal drug used in the United States. Approximately 100 million Americans have tried marijuana at least once in their life. More than 25 million have smoked it in the last year. Cannabis is relatively safer than any other drugs such as cocaine or meth. It takes 800 joints to kill a person that's smoking marijuana; the cause of death would be carbon monoxide poisoning. Using cocaine or meth leads to addiction along with death in a short period of time. There are no recorded deaths as a result of cannabis over consumption. Not to mention, when it comes to using cannabis there are positive and negative outcomes. For example, marijuana is used for a variety of ailments and conditions including easing nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy, reducing eye pressure in glaucoma patients, and treating gastrointestinal illness. Medical Marijuana has made tremendous impact in today's society treating children suffering from seizures. With this substance it can minimize the number of seizures to a low percentage than prescription drugs wasn't able to do. For example, Charlotte Figi had her first seizure when she was 3 months old. Over the next few months had frequent seizures lasting over two to four hours long along with being hospitalized constantly. The family suffered a lot, constantly taking her to doctor appointments, hospitals, anywhere to find an answer to why she was having so many seizures. At age 6, Charlotte’s family moved to Colorado where she was treated with a marijuana strain that eased her symptoms of epilepsy.
