What is a memorable moment? It can be something that makes someone happy or sad. It is usually a big event that happens and you never forget it. My most memorable event was the time my father almost died from a brain aneurysm. This single event changed my life and how I feel about loved ones; it made me value the time I have with family.
On December 10, 2003 my father almost died from a brain aneurysm. He came home from a trip to Santa Cruz with a really bad headache. My mother gave him some Tylenol and had him take a hot shower. After the shower he laid down in his bed, but his head hurt so bad he started to cry. My mother decided to take him to the emergency room at Oak Valley hospital. This was the beginning of the most memorable day of my life.
When they arrived at the hospital he was immediately taken to a room. An x-ray was taken of his head and the next thing I knew he was on his way to another hospital in Modesto. At this hospital he had to have an angiogram, this is a test that sent a small camera into his brain through a vein in his groin. I remember thinking about life without my father. While I really love my mother I could not imagine living without him. I was very scared and just wanted him to come home with us.
The angiogram showed that a vein in his brain had ruptured and was bleeding at a constant rate. He had to be stabilized and then transferred to U.C. Davis for brain surgery. We were told that this surgery would stop the bleeding, but he would have to learn how to speak again as this is the part of the brain that was affected. All we could do was pray for him, I prayed for God to heal him. In other words I prayed for God to perform a miracle on my father. My mother, brothers and I were helpless; we could not do anything to help him.
The next day they did another angiogram and could not even tell were his brain had been bleeding from. God had performed a miracle for my father; he came home on
