It is important to have a constant understanding of oneself as a person, beliefs, and values and how those factors may affect decisions made professionally, especially in leadership positions. The better understanding we have of ourselves and others the more capable we are of identifying opportunities for growth, individually and as a whole. Personally, from a moral development stand point, as a professional there is a high level of understanding and fair treatment when working with and interacting with others. However, there is opportunity for growth in not just being open and accepting, but also by intentionally familiarizing oneself with different cultures and beliefs. Taking this step can provide a better understanding and the point of view others bring to the table. It is a personal belief that professional development is an ongoing journey, even in leadership positions. Currently, professional development is gained through regular trainings at the school, both online and in interactive groups. As new information is learned, it may alter the ways of thinking. One belief is the fact that everyone must be considered. Personally and professionally, it is worrying when someone is being bullied or antagonized. There is not a huge focus on developing personal relationships with co-workers and teams, being professional has been more of a focus. There is a huge focus on creating avenues to help others improve and grow themselves. The current outlook is based on past experiences and what was reinforced throughout childhood. This mental outlook will change more in the future, as it has already changed from what it was in the past. There are weaknesses present, such as the fact that it is really hard to forgive those that cause hurt and pain. This limits the opportunity to see things from their point of view, their actions may seem normal in their world based on their history.
