Experiment No. 5
EQUIVALENT RESISTANCE. DELTA-WYE TRANSFORMATION.

Date Performed: August 16, 2013
Date Submitted: August 23, 2013

Instructor
I. Abstract
This experiment was performed to determine the transformation of delta to wye networks and wye to delta networks. It is easily to determine the transformation of networks using the formula of delta and wye connection.
II. Introduction
Standard 3-phase circuits or networks take on two major forms with names that represent the way in which the resistances are connected, a wye connected Network which has the symbol of the letter, Υ (wye) and a Delta connected Network which has the symbol of a triangle, Δ (delta). If a 3-phase, 3-wire supply or even a 3-phaseload is connected in one type of configuration, it can be easily transformed or changed it into an equivalent configuration of the other type by using either the Wye to Delta Transformation or Delta to Wye Transformation process. To convert a Delta network to an equivalent wye network we need to derive a transformation formula for equating the various resistors to each other between the various terminals. In converting a wye resistive network to an equivalent Delta network. If all the resistors in the wye network are equal in value then the resultant resistors in the equivalent Delta network will be three times the value of the wye resistors. The experiment is aim to study the transformation of delta-connected load to wye-connected load, or vice versa.
III. Background
The transformation is used to establish equivalence for networks with three terminals. Where three elements terminate at a common node and none are sources, the node is eliminated by transforming the impedances. For equivalence, the impedance between any pair of terminals

In this paper I will discuss the pros and cons of each research method with respect to both a new product launch and a revised product launch. I will also explain why there are different research needs for a new product versus a re-launch. Most research can be divided into two categories. “Primary research can be defined as research designed and conducted by the person or group originating the request” (Primary Research, 2012). “Secondary research can be defined as utilizing existing research data gathered by an external source (Secondary Research, 2012). There are a wide variety of information-gathering techniques. The various data collection methods are mail surveys, telephone surveys, face to face surveys, and focus groups. The product I that I will focus on will be a new vehicle to determine which research method works the best. One must first decide what the research question is and then decide what data or variables are needed to scientifically answer the question to provide the best results for the product.…
