In ancient times, only kings and queens ate meat because they had the funds to pay for it, unfortunately, they were the ones dying from chronic diseases. One might say in the past we were hunters and gatherers, however, men were the ones hunting whilst the others harvested fruits and vegetables. As stated in the documentary by one of the nutritionists, no diet would lack the appropriate amount of proteins if one consumes adequate calories. The more animal products that people eat, the higher their chances are of acquiring cancer. Dr. Campbell too expresses that animal protein puts a strain on our bodies and that the animals we eat are vegetarians. Though, I do not believe all animals are vegetarians because chickens consume animal protein as well, such as bugs, whilst pigs eat almost everything. Those that give up red meat for white meat are not truly making a change in their diet because these animals are high in cholesterol and are heavily polluted. Protein is an important factor in one’s diet and although it can be obtained from plants, it’s reasonable to get it from meat too.
