Party Plates Company has been growing consistently for the past few years. The increase in sales volume and customers has everyone in the corporate office struggling to maintain current customer information, sales trends, and customer orders. Our system of tracking all this data has been the use of Microsoft Excel. Although it is a vast program, and it has worked effectively for the company for many years; it is now time to implement a better and easier system that will allow everyone to have current and accurate information on the operations of the company. It will also increase the communication flow between our staff and corporate partners. We are therefore, proposing the implementation of Microsoft Access. We will be able to run reports accurately, and at any time. Access allows multiple users to work on the same data at the same time. With Excel we could not change the information as easily, and we had to assign the job to one person at a time. That is time consuming and time is money. In addition, we consistently have the need to connect to several data sources at one time, and with Access we will be able to do so and change information or update information as we need to with a lower risk of making errors. This is going to make a huge impact on our sales as we will be able to keep up with our customer orders, check our sales trends, and follow up with any complaints or mistakes that have been made, in a timely manner. We will be able to communicate better as a team, and distribute the work evenly because the information will be broken down by departments. This will save us time and money and will help us better understand our business and improve the moral of the

A good accounting information system (AIS) will help create, maintain, and distribute the financial reports as well as perform tasks in payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory, and budgeting (Bagranoff, Simkin, & Norman, 2010). Management will be able to set up controls in the system allowing staff to have access to what is necessary and appropriate for their job. They will be able to call up and modify this information electronically without searching or filling out new paperwork. Data entry will be mainstreamed, allowing for less key strokes, and integration of information. This will allow for better accuracy in accounting and accounts will be able to be managed more efficiently, including processing of bi-weekly payroll. Payroll will then be sent directly to processing and reports to the correct managers. Accounts receivable will be able to track when customers use the POS system and update the sales information. Accounts payable will track when a vendor payment is due, allowing for payment processing, and appropriate management and accounting reports. The inventory system will be more accurate saving Kudler time and…

Party Plates is currently using the information system identified as Microsoft Excel. While this is a great program and has been very useful for our business practices thus far, our team has collaborated upon a recommendation for the implementation of converting to the Microsoft Access database. To keep up with the current growth of our customer base, we know that this conversion is necessary. Microsoft Access assists employees to swiftly record and account for information with the ability of Microsoft Office Fluent user’s interaction with its design capabilities that do not necessitate intense database knowledge. The practice of creating a group within a group and then performing calculations are far more complicated in Excel. With Office Access, one has the ability to link tables to his or her database from other Access databases, Windows SharePoint Services sites, ODBC data sources, Excel spreadsheets, Microsoft SQL Server databases, and other data sources. One can then link tables easily to generate reports; thereby, one can base his or her decisions on a more inclusive set of information. Users are able to share data over the internet on Microsoft Office SharePoint Server. Databases are good for finding relationships in data. Spreadsheets are excellent when performing "what if" analysis and working with numbers.…
