subjective personal pronouns and how to identify if they are subjective or objective and learning the differences, the next concept was possessive pronouns and what they mean to apply them in sentences, the last concept of this concept was pronoun- antecedent agreements rules, this provided the understanding of how pronouns and antecedents can be applied and the way they should be written this goal was understood by learning how to apply them together in a sentence. My goal for this semester was to understand these concepts without doubting the capability of being able to following the subject verb agreement rules. The reason why I chose this goal was because I had a difficult time understanding grammar and learning how to identify the subject verb agreement rules.
This half semester in composition and grammar I enjoyed doing activities with table group partners, and learning how to properly use grammar like subject verb agreement, the reason I enjoyed working in groups because it lets me share my ideals with other members in my class, I enjoyed learning about subject verb agreement as it finally made sense to because I had a difficult time understanding the concept but, after I learned to understand the concept better it helped me to correctly use grammar and to identify my mistakes. The concept I felt most confident about was pronoun-antecedent agreement, the reason I felt confident about this concept was due to my good understanding to identify the pronoun that was used to replace the antecedent. The best method that helped me learn vocabulary was using flashcards quizlet, and studying with a table partner. These methods were very helpful and helped me understand the meanings of stems and word definitions. Working with a partner was the most successful method to learn vocabulary as it helps me find better strategies to study.
In everyday life the basic knowledge of grammar is very important as it makes you appear to have a basic knowledge.
When applying for careers it is important to use correct grammar because most companies are looking for well educated people who will do well in a professional atmosphere. When communicating in business careers to a professional audience to in important to have a basic understanding to ensure people take you serious. Proper usage of grammar also affects the basic understanding when completing formal or business documents to look professional and educated. My goal for this unit was accomplished by attending SAS and by doing separate research on the topic I struggled with, I think I did a good job with understanding the topics I had a hard time on. During this half semester I learned many basic grammar skills that are helpful for professional and educational documents and speeches. I think the learning skills that I learned this year will be a big part of learning other concepts and being able to learn other topics. The steps I will take to continue to have the best understanding of grammar is to look over notes and practice the concepts, If I find myself struggling I will attend SAS to better my understanding. My goal for next semester is to take better notes on concepts to have a better understanding and
knowledge.
