For an academic achievement, I was awarded with an underclassmen award for algebra II my sophomore year of high school, algebra II had been the class that I had striven the hardest for and it was great to see my hard work pay off. The underclassmen awards at Fitchburg High School, are way to acknowledge the achievements of the students that are not upperclassmen, teachers choose the students they believe are worthy of the award. Furthermore, all throughout my high school experience, my grades have held a high importance to me, achieving good marks gives me a sense of pride in knowing that I am capable of doing what I once considered incredibly difficult. Achieving good grades has allowed me to receive admission to my schools Renaissance activities…
When I was in seventh grade, my middle school participated in a very well-known science fair competition in Los Angeles County. The fair showcased projects done by students all over the county, and only a few of the best students were chosen as winners. The winners, depending on the grade level, won cash prizes, medals, and even scholarship offers. As most people would be, I was really enthusiastic that I got an opportunity to participate in such a rigorous event.…
I was awarded a wonderful education at Windham High School, but beyond the information I retained, I also learned what is important in life. At first, I thought all that mattered was the clothes you wore, what makeup you had on, and who you were friends with. There is more to life than all that. I love helping others and my induction into the National Honor Society allowed me to do just that, especially in my four service projects I had the opportunity to lead and be a part of. I try to please people and make sure they are always happy and I now know it is most important to give back to the community who gave me so much.…
That showed me to be more brave and my camp counselor really cared about me. My older sister Emily shows me compassion because she cares so much for me and she is always there for me when I need her. A few years ago I was in a car accident and I hit the back of my head and went straight to the hospital and the doctors we really nice and took really good care of me. Whenever I get bad anxiety from stressful situations my best friend Katalina always help me calm down and to think about other things. In 2001 when 9/11 happened there were fundraising to help others who were injured. In the first trimester in eighth grade if you had failed to classes then you would not graduate. I was failing two classes but my teacher Mrs. Bodenrader helped me get all of my missing work and I was able to pass those classes.…
The day I got accepted into CSN high school led to two years of personal growth, intellectual advancement, a new understanding of others and myself, and college readiness. I was able to get ahead in my education compared to most students my age. I became ready for college and for a more mature environment. I had a time where I had to develop a new understanding for my self. I would have to act as an adult and be more mature with all the freedom the college environment offered. Luckily going to college wont be scary because I know what to expect and I have two years of…
When I graduated from Whittier Education Campus at thirteen, it was a major day in my family. Since, my parents hadn't finished high school, hence they were excited to witness another daughter start high school and the road to higher education. The many benefits to returning to school and some of the obstacles I had and have to overcome to see my dream come alive. What I want to see happen and by faith it’s going to happen.…
I think since I make it a passion of mine,it really gives me motivation to strive for the very best. In the past I would start on a project, then lose focus and start on something else , then so on and so forth. Now , since I have grown to realize not accomplishing a goal does not make me any better or put me in a better place. So by achieving a goal,it puts me in a way better place and a couple of steps closer to where I want to end up in the end of my time. I want to make myself better I want to set an example for my brothers , sisters , and younger cousins. Also , I like to make my parents , and grandparents proud of me. It really shows them that I care about how I live my life and they feel as if they are also setting a good example for…
The proudest moment in my high school career is when I signed myself to take my first AP class. I was really nervous about going to the meeting to sign myself up to get the summer assignment because I felt that I was not ready for the work load, and I would not be able to pass the class. My excuse for not going to the meeting was that I was helping in the cafeteria and I was going to be really late, but when I told my two best friends Jenny and Virginia that I wasn't going to take it anymore. They got so frustrated and annoyed with me because they said I was stupid if I didn’t take AP calculus because that was my favorite subject and I needed a challenge in that class. They also made me remember when I would tell them that Math Analysis was…
As a sophomore at Mercy high school I’ve come to know many things. When you start high school you have no idea that the things you’ll learn, the decisions you’ll make and the people you meet will affect the rest of your life, but that’s what it’s about. It’s about learning and growing so that when you leave high school and you graduate you will have the skills to go to college and become a part of something. What you don’t realize is that while you spend your four years in high school, you become a part of something as well. That’s what receiving my pin on this day means to me. It’s knowing that while I’m here, when I graduate and for the many years after that, I will always be apart of something. I will be a part…
Education has always been one of the most important things to me, and I am dedicated to learn as much as humanly possible. Throughout my high school career I have challenged myself by completing six advanced placement classes and taking other honors classes. I have taken these classes as a way to help guide myself for what is to come in the future in college. I was inducted into the National Honors Society during my junior year of high school, and I graduated with honors. Both of these successes are the two greatest accomplishments of my high school career. These two achievements prove how dedicated I was, and still am, to getting the best education I could. My quality of dedication will stick with me throughout my future endeavors.…
Graduating basic training and becoming a United States Army soldier is one of the greatest feelings in the world. Less than one percent of the population of the United States understands and knows exactly how it feels to reach this milestone in life. When I reached this point of my life I was full of a sense pride, relief, and accomplishment. I knew that I had just officially joined something much bigger than myself. The memory of my basic training graduation ceremony will forever be burned into my memory. The date was December 7th, 2012. This day was one of the toughest I had to endure.…
The focus on education at such a young age really helped me define my childhood dreams. As a kindergartener, I remember my dad telling me, “You better get good grades so you can get money to go to college. We can’t pay for it.” As a little tyke of five-and-a-half-years old, I excitedly got on the bus the first day to go to school. I was excited about learning, and somehow that never changed. I did want to go to college, and the message that it was up to me, even from a very young age, stuck with and motivated me. My dad joked about me going to Harvard to become a lawyer, and that became my first childhood dream.…

There are many traditional celebrations throughout the world. There is Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Easter. Not everyone or every culture, so to speak observes these celebrations. It depends on your background, culture, and beliefs. While most families around the world celebrate the traditional holidays, many families, like my own, have similar celebrations that are like the traditional holidays.…
