Minimum Wage Should Be Raised
can you image living in a society or country where all citizens are living below poverty line. nowadays in the united states, one of the most frequently ask question is should minimum wage be raised or completely eradicated altogether. minimum wage is the legally accepted pay that employers are required to paid their employees. A robust minimum wage is a key reason of sustainable economic growth.
According to Jared Bernstein "Based on one well established theory and two equally well established facts, raising the minimum wage would help"(Bernstein). The increase in minimum wage would enable individual to live above poverty line, lower government assistance program and the amount of consumer spending will increase. one fact about the economy of America is that it is made up of 70% of consumer spending (jahred). An individual living on his or her own can not fully survive on minimum without government assistance.
