Energy conservation is a process that every one in the world should be aware of not just for the rising cost of energy that is used by the consumer, but also the destruction that it can stop on the earths resources. Energy conservation is the reducing or eliminating of unnecessary energy use and waste by decreasing the quantity of energy used for achieving the same outcome. There are many tools that can be used for energy conservation
Focus on a specific environmental problem using one of the categories listed below as a starting point. After reading and reflecting on the category you chose, narrow your focus to a particular problem within that category. For example, if you chose “water pollution” as your category, you could narrow your focus to “water pollution in Lake Erie” or “water pollution caused by fertilizer runoff in the state of Nebraska”:
Write a 1,750- to 2,100-word paper that formulates a mitigation plan for your specific environmental problem. Include the following:
- A detailed description of the problem
- Nonliving and living factors that contribute to or are affected by the problem
- Positive or negative human impacts
- Evaluation of current sustainability strategies and solutions
- Your plan to reach sustainability (See Appendix F)
- Benefits and challenges of your plan
- Explanation of required government, societal, and global support (if needed)
Create a plan by using Appendix F as a guide for formatting. Your plan must be more detailed and specific than the sample presented in Appendix F. Your plan needs to include specific technological and legislative solutions for solving the problem. A plan that centers around “creating awareness,” “educating the community,” etc. is not acceptable.
If you include steps about making flyers or giving a presentation, you also need to describe what specific factual information will be included in the presentation or flyers.
