Before modern technology, if you wanted to talk to someone, you would have to walk up to them in person. Now with a cell phone, they can just shoot a text message to someone, go on social media or call the person. When talking about cell phones, people would only think of the beneficial things that it brings. When a person is texting someone is hard to tell the tone of a person or their feeling. The texts that people sent might …show more content…
When walking around the school, you will notice that almost every student whether they had friends nearby or not had a cell phone out to read text messages or check voicemails as they walked around. It was once something that people did in their private and during downtime, but now it has become an obsession because they feel the need to use it every time. Also, students have no problem using it secretly in class without getting caught. In fact, some of the professors are not too strict with their cell phones policy. They allowed students to use it during class time which can be distracting and cause them to not pay attention to what the professor is saying. For example, last semester I did not do too well in one of my classes because I always on my cell phone browsing the web or talking to my friends while my professor was lecturing. I was not listening to my professor which result in doing poorly in class. In my accounting class, my professor is strict with his electronic devices. He does not allow anyone to use their cell phones or laptops. He makes sure that every student prints out the lecture notes and following along with him during class time. Without the distraction of my cell phone, I have learned that it is easy for me to understand the subject the best when I pay full attention in class. Also, I found out that cell phones also hurt my grade in English class because I realize heavily on it. When I am
