Reflective Essay MAT101 College Mathematics

Dr. John Karonika
September 27, 2011

The moment I began registering for this class, the anxiety began. I haven’t taken a college level class since 1993 and only took a Nursing Math class which in my opinion is not very advanced. It was during the first module, I became much more at ease with taking this class gaining the confidence I needed to successfully complete it. My knowledge was definitely improved because ,aside from graphing, I didn’t know or couldn’t remember any of the concepts of this course. My work was strong until Module 1 case study. Got a D-, which bothered me greatly but also motivated me to work harder

Also, I know I will not regret taking both Comp I and Comp II as I prepare to leave high school and transition into a four year…

In regards to how much I feel I improved my knowledge and skills of advanced math during this course, I sadly have to say none whatsoever. I am just as frustrated with math at the end of this course as I was when I started. I did put an honest effort into trying to learn the material as best I could. I thought that since I had not taken math since high school nearly ten years ago, I would grasp the concepts easier. Apparently I was wrong.…

This semester has affected my technical skills in a good way because I have learned various things. In project making (which is the most challenging part) there are many things, tricks you have to remember in order to make the project. I have learned about different objectives like designing diagrams and testing the schematic, comparing the breadboard making in the PCB design. I understand that we (students) may need this course in life someday.…
