Moonlight Rita Cashore
Moonlight Sonata - peaceful calm “The man with the white streak in his black hair was diving too close to her again.” (Cashore 3) Moonlight Sonata fits here because the scene is calm but still slightly suspenseful. It also fits here because the song represents how everything will be okay in the end, but might not be right now. The song also fits the prologue because the prologue is calm but still sad at times, just as Moonlight is.“The creature tried to quiet her trembling limbs, so that if the human got deep enough to see her, he would think she was just a mountain of moss on the ocean floor and stop scaring her.” (Cashore 3) The song fits with this sentence since the song is hopeful and almost weak sounding, as she is, since she is scared of the human. It also fits here because the human gets forcefully taken from the water soon after this quote. …show more content…
Who is the child?’ Another reason it fits is because the first chapter is powerful at times, but also calming in others. “When, hours later, the party emerged from the tunnels into the pink morning light of the Monsean forest, tears began to stream down the face of Selie’s mother.” (Cashore 13)The song also fits here, since the moment is emotional and relieving, as is the song. The second reason the song applies here is that the moment is the moment is momentous, as they are fleeing from a country that wants to kill them. Another reason this song fits here is that it is sad as well because the journey is over, and they have nothing to do

Within Rita Dove’s poem “Daystar,” there is a mother who feels helpless to the limitations of motherhood. In the poem, the mother is the poet, who describes her experiences of being a stay at home mother. Rita feels as if she has no privacy and her responsibilities as a mother are never ending “she wanted a little room for thinking: but she saw diapers steaming on the line.” Because of this, Rita feels as if she is unable to progress in her life “where she was nothing, pure nothing, in the middle of the day.” While the auditor within the poem “Daystar” is the reader, as she sheds a bit of light on motherhood.…

The poem is highly metaphorical and symbolic. The story, on the surface, really is about swimming in the ocean alone. However, as we readers examine further, it’s quite obvious that there are meanings behind this superficial image. As a matter of fact, the ocean is a metaphor of greatness and mystery. We can also perceive it to be a symbol of life as we all “swim” in this ocean and are truly uncertain about what will happen next. The image of seaweed shadows is apparent in the first stanza, and they can apparently be seen as obstacles that we encounter in the journeys of our lives. In the third paragraph, the poet addressed that in the end, it is only a “drifting body” or a “dolphin”. This seems paradoxical because drifting body is a symbol of death and mortality, whereas, in sharp contrast, dolphins are universally viewed as creatures that are nimble and lively. The use of two completely polar things implies the uncertainty of life and supports the idea that life is fundamentally fearsome.…

In music, I compare my troubles and tribulations with the lyrics. Towards the middle of the piece, it begins to build up. When I was around 9 years old, my mom passed away from failure to receive a liver transplant. This hit my family hard and to this day, we are still haunted by the day God took her away. Since this is the middle of the piece, it's starting to have emotion and deep feelings within it. Anger, hurt, and sorrow was what I was feeling when my mom passed away. I was confused and mad at the world. I didn't quite understand why people had to die since I was only 9 after all. There was always a question of why and to this day, there still is.…

“Another Way Out” by Hollywood Undead is an exquisite song to listen to because of the understanding behind the song, how it can bring a sad/upsetting mood into a joyful one, and why it’s a relevant song to listen to (Alvarez, Boice, Busek, Murillo & Terrell, 2013). “Another Way Out” came out back in 2012 along with the entire album “Notes from the Underground. (Alvarez, Boice, Busek, Murillo & Terrell, 2013)” Most of the songs Hollywood Undead produces have a meaning behind them or other…
