Another Way Out By Hollywood Undead: Song Analysis
Today, music has changed throughout history. Evolving. Everywhere someone goes, something music related is seen. Everything from posters, magazines, tv, etc. What’s a song you can sit back and listen to and the mood within the song, helps on a tough day? “Another Way Out” by Hollywood Undead is an exquisite song to listen to because of the understanding behind the song, how it can bring a sad/upsetting mood into a joyful one, and why it’s a relevant song to listen to (Alvarez, Boice, Busek, Murillo & Terrell, 2013).
“Another Way Out” came out back in 2012 along with the entire album “Notes from the Underground. (Alvarez, Boice, Busek, Murillo & Terrell, 2013)” Most of the songs Hollywood Undead produces have a meaning behind them or other

I chose the song “Car Radio” by Twenty One Pilots because it is very poetic and notes the fragility of human existence. My choosing of the song also came from its popularity and ability to resonant with a crowd. I practiced by memorizing the song, timing myself, trying varying tempo and pitch. I also practiced with varying levels of chattel going on from working over the sound of the television and the cacophony of hammers from the work that was going on outside my house. When I woke up on the morning of the speech, I was fine.…

Number One: “Walking on Sunshine” by Katrina and the Waves.Notably used in High Fidelity when Rob Gordon owns a record store and his two quirky employees which both have opposite taste in music start a conflict on which song to play. My personal favorite is when Patrick Bateman in American Psycho listens to this song after a successful night of killing. This pop culture hit from Katrina and the Waves are always used for characters who feels good and to spread sunshine, rainbows and everything…

Twenty One Pilots is an alternative/indie band made up of two members, Joseph and Josh Dunn. They are known to occasionally rap and include specific tempos and beats that correspond with each song’s thought provoking lyrics. In the song “Oh. Ms. Believer” by Twenty One Pilots they use the analogy of snow to describe a young girl going through depression. The band accurately describes the feeling of being trapped inside one's mind as they go through the hardships of this mental illness. Although at first this song may be interpreted as another cliché alternative hit, the meanings hidden beneath the lyrics are sure to tug at the listener's heart strings as he/she looks through the eyes of someone who struggles with a loved one who is depressed.…

After I annotated this song and actually looked into what the lyrics were saying I learned that not everyone is who you think they are. For instance, you hide a lot of things from people not because you want to ,but because you don’t know how to tell them or maybe you’re afraid of what they will think of you. In the song ‘Demons’ by Imagine Dragons the singer says,”I wanna hide the truth’(Imagine dragons line 8 box 3) ,but then he says,” don’t want to hide the truth.”( Imagine Dragons line 35 box 8) I think that he is having mixed feelings what he should do. He is afraid that if he tells you that you may leave him or you won’t look at him the same way ever again.…

The breakfast club has one of the most unique and memorable soundtracks of all time. Something that made the movie gave it such a memorable track and the movies “theme song”, "Don't You (Forget About Me)" by the band Simple minds. Something that the movie did that not none to many movies had done at that point. They used this song twice, once at the beginning at once at the end. The two times this song is played in this movie, each function is shown. It shows genre because the movie was release in 1985 and this is around the time new wave music (the song’s genre) became popular. It sets the mood both at the beginning and at the end of the movie. It sets mood at the beginning because of the tempo and rhythm makes…

My group for the music time capsule was Ashley Armitage, Dylan Bates, and Jordan Crutchfield. These 10 songs were chosen because we felt that they will be relevant in the near and distant future. Honestly, the way my group chose our songs was by each of us picking three songs from our individual lists and mutually discussing the tenth song. The first song is Ring of Fire by Johnny Cash. Ashley Armitage chose this song, and with very good reason.…

Also, ‘Parting request’ is said over and over again like how Kevin gave Max a book before he dies and said to write down all their adventures like a parting request from him. The song sounds sad and sentimental which was like how it felt after Kevin died. That is why I picked this song for this event. This song has always sounded kinda creepy to me; the song has a tension in it like somethings going to happen.…

In today's world it is incredibly difficult to locate music with a positive message about Religion, especially Catholicism. The entertainment industry is covered with a bunch of smoke and mirrors. It consistently relays negative messages to the people of our world. In the song “Ooh Ahh” By: Grits it gives a specific message of thankfulness and worship to God. I choose this song because of its catchy hook, and of course it’s wonderful message about God and how we should look for him in our own lives.…

My song that I chose is Centuries by Fall Out Boys, because 8th grade felt like it was centuries long. One relation between 8th grade and the song can be seen in the line “just one mistake, is all it will take”, which is how I felt about almost every test throughout the year. I felt with mostly Bs in my classes, a few mistakes could make or break my grade, which may not have been the intended meaning of the line. "Just one mistake, is all it will take" to get you killed, well... maybe I wouldn't be dead but my grade certainly would be.…

Music is one of the greatest and most influential devices that we as humans deal with on a day to day basis. It plays such an important role in our lives and helps build character without us ever thinking twice about it. In today's society there are so many types and genres of music that you can find a song for any type of mood that you're in. Music has the power to bring thousands of people from opposite walks of life together. When I stop and think about the songs that bring up the best memories it creates a wide spectrum of genres. Ranging from Garth Brooks the "Thunder Rolls" to classical Ave Maria, to Bone Thugz N Harmony and Sweetish Rock band by the name of Volbeat. The list of songs to come not only have personal stories behind each and every one of them, but they also tell a timeline from my earliest memories as a child growing up with three older brothers, to the highs and lows of being a teenager in high school, and to spending a year in Afghanistan.…
