For example, both religions believe that women are to dress modestly, especially if she is married. In Christianity, dressing modestly for women includes wearing dresses of an appropriate length, covering their heads with church hats, in some instances, and not entertaining the opposite sex. Muslims practice a similar belief but it is seen as being negative. Another practice would be the act of having more than one wife. If this was practiced by someone of the Christian faith then it would be okay. In my opinion, it is practiced everyday when people get divorced and decide to take on another marriage while their former partner is living. Marrying more than one spouse is seen as being negative when practiced by someone of the Muslim faith because it is seen as being forbidden due to Christians being taught that a man should be a husband of ONE

Thomas McElwain, author of Invatation to Islam: a survival guide, claims the Christian faith and Islamic faith are fairly similar when it comes to their beliefs, for example: Islam believes in the five pillars of faith; the belief that there is a God; that there are sacred books (the Quran); the belief in angels; as well as in the belief of prophets and a Judgment day. Like the Christian faith, God, angels, prophets, sacred texts (the bible), and the belief that judgment day will soon near, are all widely believed. So, what dissimilarities lie amongst these two faiths? Aside from Christians defining God as three persons, and lacking one prophet, and one sacred book from that of the Islamic faith, the principles of both are pretty much agreeable (McElwain). Moreover, in order to succeed in living a life of virtue, those belonging to either of these faiths would have to accept and follow certain tasks in which their religion instructs them to do.…

The monotheistic traditions of Islam and Christianity share relative compatibility due to common beliefs between the two major world Religions, yet past these similarities, the two belief systems diverge in terms of religious dogma. While the two are compatible, it is important to note that the two religions are by no means the same. Muhammad founded the religion of Islam, while the religion of Christianity stems from Jesus Christ. Correspondingly, Islam finds its foundation in The Qur’an revealed to Muhammad, while Christianity seeks truth from the Holy Bible conveyed by its inspired authors. The core of Islamic and Christian traditions roots itself in the theological beliefs of one all-powerful, ever-present God, along with mutual belief…
