In two stories “Young Man’s Folly”, written by Susan Michalicka and “Flight”, written by Doris Lessing, there are a lot of similarities. In “Young Man’s Folly”, the author tells a story about a boy and his mother, that by boy’s foolishness of his father are left alone. The boy is not very happy, so he blames his mom that he doesn’t have his father anymore. However, at the end the boy realizes that his mom’s the one that truly loves him. One the other hand, in the story “Flight”, the writer is telling a story about and old man who’s not able to let go to his granddaughter, as in the past he had a similar situation with his daughter. At the end he’d understood what love is all about. The main idea of these two stories is change in main characters, and how as the time passes they realize what’s right.…

The author did a magnificent job to persuade my thinking toward health care system in the United States that health care should be considered as a fundamental right to all U.S. citizens. The author’s essay was easy to follow, well constructed, and straight-forward to his topic sentence. Writer had a strong introduction, supportive points, and a conclusion. The author provided enough facts to support his /her argument regarding health insurance should be accepted as basic right for all the U.S. citizens just like education. Health care converges are very expensive that a normal person cannot effort. I like the fact he presented in his/ her writing that even citizens with health insurance will still end up paying out of their pocket. Insurance companies more concerns about their profits than providing health coverage. There is always a waiting list or have to wait in line to see a doctor even if you are covered by insurance. The entire U.S citizens have to stand up and fight for their rights. I also realized that the author did not use any I statements, which means the author is not bias. That is true that having health care system to the U.S. citizens will save many lives and courage the health of all Americans.…

There are many dangers that plague us in today’s society. One of the most pressing issues is that of driving under the influence of alcohol. This is a problem for many reasons. Firstly, driving while intoxicated is illegal. It shows the rising problem of substance abuse, and most importantly, driving drunk is deadly. According to "Drinkinganddriving.org" (2008-2013), "900,000 are arrested each year for DUI/DWI and a full 1/3 of those are repeat offenders”.…
Both authors understand the importance of having a purpose for the story, as well as having a technique that helps the point come across to the reader. This makes their stories have a greater impact and makes it have more meaning to the audience. It proved effective in helping the movement towards less discrimination towards women and blacks. The repetitiveness is used in different ways in the two stories, but the thing they have in common is that it helps get the point across to the reader. This makes the story more relatable to the readers and this makes it something that is lasting with the reader. This would make the story more effective at obtaining its…

In essence, persuasion occurs when the persuader (individual or group) successfully, using figurative words, images, and sounds deliberately convinces an individual or group to change or alter their beliefs, attitudes, intentions, and behaviors. Significantly, there are various methods in which people use to persuade others. When these methods of persuasion are implemented effectively, people are more likely to be vulnerable to persuasion than they could possibly image. Persuasion is achieved through believability of the persuader combined with expertise and trustworthiness. An effective communicator adopts the three elements of ethos, pathos, and logos to win over the audience. Using the model of persuasion in…
