Electronic business is a very general and broad term used to describe business run on the Internet. In addition, continuous changes and new ways of approaching different issues cause difference in interpretation of even basic concepts of eBusiness.
According to Northern Territory Government eBusiness (electronic business) “is using technology to improve your business processes. This includes managing internal processes such as human resources, financial and administration systems, as well as external processes such as sales and marketing, supply of goods and services, and customer relationships”. http://www.dob.nt.gov.au/business/starting-business/ebusiness/pages/ebusiness.aspx 14.05 In other words e-business includes exchange of information between producers, distributors and consumers of products and services, contracting, transfer documents, conducting conference calls, gaining new contacts, search for information. e-business also” may be defined as the conduct of industry, trade, and commerce using the computer networks” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electronic_business
The concept of electronic business combines the more general subjects such as electronic company (e-enterprise), electronic commerce (e-economy), and the electronic society (e-society) the electronic government (e-government), as well as more detailed, such as e-banking and e-learning. Yet another aspect of the virtualization of business processes which focuses on the issues of transferring information is m-busiess.
Electronic Business is used by more and more players in the market. Therefore is classified into the few categories: Business-to-business (B2B) consists of the execution of business processes betwen the two companies. Business-to-consumer (B2C) it is relationship realisating the transactions between business and consumers. Consumer-to-consumer (C2C) is taking place between the consumers of goods or services.
