My Academic Goals At NOVA

My academic goal at NOVA is to keep my GPA as high as I can for the next year. I have already completed my first year here. I plan to complete my science associates at Northern Virginia Community College. Then I plan to transfer to Virginia Tech, there I will finish my bachelors. My educational goal is to become a veterinarian for small animals. After I complete my bachelors at Virginia Tech, which I will finish with a biochemistry degree, I will apply to Virginia Tech's Virginia -Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. I have already looked at the prerequisites the school requires and I already have a lot of them, at NOVA. To be accepted into the school I will need experience working for a veterinarian as well. I plan to start with that
soon at Woodbridge Animal Hospital, where I am currently employed. I am due to a change of position though, from a kennel assistant to Vet Tech very soon, which will greatly help my experience with the profession. I will experience working in an emergency care environment with veterinarians. My long-term career plan is to help low-income pet owners. The reason my family has two cats is because we found them as kittens on the street. We couldn't afford them, but we couldn't let them die on the street. However, we found a veterinarian facility that performed procedures for a fraction of what they cost. My first career project I wish to complete with my veterinarian degree is to establish a veterinarian clinic in which I can serve pets at an affordable price. I have planned out my future to the best of my abilities so far. I take my education seriously. I need to become the best I can be to be able to help others in the long run. I am not only thinking about the present, but also for the future, and this scholarship will push me closer to these goals as I have set. It will help me get through my last couple of semesters at Northern Virginia Community College.
