My Art Analysis Paper

On November 3, me and friend went at the Institution of the Arts museum to research some artifact/ painting for my Arts formal analyst paper. When we took the closer look about those artifacts, I saw one painting that was interesting. It called “Y” from the private collection. When I saw the painting and the described the thing that I felt interesting was that there was a “Y” alphabet in the painting and then when I saw read the didactic the named of that painting was “Y” which was kind of interesting. It was interesting that painting which was surrounding was named as an alphabet and every single painting that I saw from surrounding it was some kind of design and there was an alphabet that was also drawn and that’s why they might have given the name of the painting as an alphabet. In this paper I would like to talk about when and where this painting was created, what were some similarities and difference that I have noticed according to the painting that I have analysis and surrounding of the paintings.

Let’s beginning with, what this painting is represents. This painting is the representational and you can have noticed why this painting named as an “Y” and not something else.it was made on the simple paper. They have collage it
and painted with water color. In these painting they have used most likely primary colors. After looking at this painting we have noticed that there is an “Y” that’s why it’s called “Y”.
Continue on, museum states that “Letters an images into collage poem called, “optophonetics” in which he shattered the stultified language of military bureaucrats and polite society”. In my opinion they have just made a random design and it followed and ended in that particular alphabet, which was the “Y”. Museum describe that element that was presented in this painting was the polite society but in my prospective it presented that the machine of our life cycle is going and there is some one that controls that. Just like Duchamp talked about his piece of art called “Fountain” where he made us believe that this urinal is an art not the ordinary urinal. Just like the author want us believe that this piece of painting is art because he wants us to think like this is an art not a design which an alphabet. As we seen that this painting called an “Y” not a regular design which an alphabet because the author wants us believe that this is art. Lastly, in the class we have the Representation is basically the use of sign that stands in for and take place of the something else. It is though representation that people organize the world and reality through the act of naming its element. Just like that this piece of painting is a representation because they want us to see the feeling behind the paint not the reality that this is just the design that has an alphabet. One of the example from the example is, “this laboratory contraption, with its water wheel, oil lamp and the guardian letter Y, fuels the desire for an elemental utopia: back to basics, like the alphabet or the primary color”. Artist just want us to believe that this painting is unique and it means something that we have to accept it.
In the conclusion, we had seen that why the painting got discovered and what is it mean.
Also we have compare and contrast between one another artist thinking. We have also defined that painting is in the art place that’s why it called the piece of art not a design with the letter, we have compare the thoughts behind this paint and Duchamp thought why it called piece of art because they wanted us to believe that this is piece of art and Lastly we have defined that why this painting called representation. At the end, I just wanted to talked that artist wanted to believe that whatever they created and when they put it in the museum we need to appreciate that painting then doesn’t matter if we think it’s just the design with the
alphabet.
