My First Bicycle Experience
Learning how to ride a real bicycle was a nerve wracking moment. * I woke up one sunny morning to find my grandpa sitting on the edge of my bed. I was curious as to what he was doing there, but then grew excited when he informed me that I was ready to learn how to ride a bike without any training wheels. I had been riding with training wheels for almost a year and felt like I was ready to take the next step in growing up.

Even though I had some doubt, my grandpa and I went outside and took the little wheels off my bike. Following my bike’s transformation, it was time for the big moment. I was nervous because I had always been dependent on those two training wheels.

Was I actually ready? Could I do this on my own?

* With butterflies in my stomach, I slowly got on the bike. One shaky hand gripped one of the handles tightly, while the other held on to my grandpa’s arm for moral support. I was determined to ride this bike on my own, so with a little push from my grandpa, I started to peddle. My heart pounded as the bike’s acceleration increased. The bike was wobbly and manoeuvred in a zigzag pattern, and I barely managed to keep control. * * But slowly, I learnt how to maintain my balance. * * Once I had grasped the basic understanding of riding a bike I was going around the park on my own. I was ecstatic – I had finally achieved my goal! The adrenaline was still pumping and I kept peddling faster and faster. My surroundings became blurry and all I could hear was the wind whistling past my ears. * * Then suddenly, I was lying on the ground. * * Apparently I had lost control of the bike due to my excessive speed and had tumbled onto the concrete? I will never forget the exhilarating moment and growing up stage of riding a bike without training

The day I took off on my 4 wheeler, and left my Mom and Dad in the dust. It started out awesome and fun, then turned out to be very scary. It was July 4, 2013, my family and I loaded up our 4 wheelers for a fun day in the great outdoors. We all unloaded our 4 wheelers, then took off out into the desert. I wanted to see how fast I could go around the sharp corners on dirt roads. It was so much. I was having so much fun seeing how fast I could drive my 4 wheeler, around the sharp dirt road corners, I never looked back.…

Turning off the ignition, I heaved a sigh of relief to unwind from the nerve-wracking experience. A thought crept its way to the front of my mind, disturbing my relaxed state; I was driving. I had dreamt of this since I was a tyke in lower school, and here I was, driving myself to school. While I would assuredly enjoy the freedom driving offered, the feeling was anti-climactic. It was not everything I had chalked it up to be. Why is it, that after so many years of dreaming, the former magic of driving had vanished? Now it was just a means of achieving a vague sense of independence. After a moment’s pause, I finally concluded that I was older. Somewhere, between here and there, I had grown up just a…

The summer had given us one of those glorious sunsets that only Davis County pollution can bring. My brother and I were playing outside one warm evening. He was riding his big wheel, and I was perfectly content with drawing girly hearts with side walk chalk. The garage was wide open. There was my bike staring at me with lonely desperation. My dad said, “I am going down to grams. You should come down with me, and let’s try riding your bike. We will work on you learning to use the breaks.”…

When I first started learning how to ride a motorcycle I was very scared. After a while, I started to get the hang of it, but before I could become good, I crashed it into a barbed wire fence. I can still remember that day perfectly. It was a sunny summer weekend right before school started. My brother and I were taking turns riding it. My dad was mowing the lawn and my mom was at work. When it was my turn to ride it, I was doing okay until the second lap. The end of the second lap is where everything went bad. I was in the grass on the side of a hill. I remember getting closer and closer to the fence. I slowed the motorcycle down and put it in neutral, but I was still getting closer to the fence. I should have used the brakes, but at that…
