My Goals In The Medical Field
I have set goals for my career several years prior to becoming a student of this fine Institution. This has been to continue to enhance myself within my career in healthcare administration. I have been a medical biller and an accounts receivables manager for several years. I began my career in healthcare administration back in 1998 when the industry was in the beginning of transitioning to what it is today.
From the first year I started working in this industry it has been my goal to reach the highest levels of this field. My first position I was a file clerk with a company. My very next position was a medical biller. This was a major accomplishment for me at the time. I then continued to progress working with different doctors and
hospitals over a span of several years. As I continue to work on obtaining my degree(s) from UOPeople, I will simultaneously maintain the career path I am on. I have many time reached levels of middle management within different healthcare organizations, but my plan is to reach into top-level management opportunities. There have been many top level management positions, in which I have been qualified for, that I have lost due to a lack of having a degree. With so many years of experience in the industry I am at a crossroad. I have so many years of experience that I am overqualified for many positions, but underqualified to reach the next level due to the educational level I am at. It is my goal to change this scenario in efforts of obtaining personal excellence.
