Though I have no memory of it, my journey of faith began when I was baptized at St. Michael’s Church in East Longmeadow at three months old. From that point on, I have always been brought up as a Catholic. Prior to the age of twelve, I never really knew much about my faith. My family and I went to mass close to every Sunday, but for me as a young boy it was just simply a point in my day. I did however know the major prayers and understood Jesus, but I still couldn’t make the connections to myself. When I became a teenager, my faith really started to speak more to me. A big part of that was coming to Cathedral for my freshman year of high school. Religion class was a whole new animal for me because before that I attended public school and only had CCD once every month. The switch to Catholic school gave me a whole new perspective on God and I continued to learn more and more about the history of Roman Catholicism. God for me has now become someone who I feel is always watching over me in life and is someone that I can go to in times of need. Personally though I believe that God owes me nothing, but I still pray every night in the hope that if I do well by him, he will do well to me in return. Petruzzelli 2

The two of them still truly believe that their lives changed after that day. Now that my family background has been laid out, the person I’d like to focus on who has impacted my faith is my mom. Because of her late discovery of faith, I think my mom has become more and more increasingly
