I can potentially help my future patients get a better understanding of their case and I can answer any questions they might have. I will do my best to make them feel comfortable and taken care of. A person should not have to evade medical care because language barriers.
The importance of being a bilingual as doctor is greatly emphasized in my community. Most people in my community are Spanish verbalizers who emanate from a Hispanic background which has influenced me to do everything I can now to later provide my future patients with that extra assistance regarding language. This will help me have a better connection with them and it will be better for the patient and myself.
