The sign in the visual is what really sends the message. It is a sign with a black background and white font which contrasts and puts emphasis on it. It reads in all capital letters “Planned Parenthood Kills Babies.” These have people thinking when planning for babies is okay to have, but when planning unexpectedly pregnant they try to erase it by getting an abortion. Furthermore, in the word “parenthood,” the letter ‘o’ is switched out for a skull. This emphasizes the statement as skulls are usually used to signify death. This is very effective in reinforcing the statement made by the sign as the skulls are used in the word “parenthood” which is said to be the reason for the deaths. Both techniques are effective in bringing attention to the sign in the visual. The…

women obtaining abortions are teenagers; those aged 15-17 obtain 6% of all abortions, teens aged 18-19 obtain 11%, and teens under age 15 obtain 0.4%. On another bracket women in their twenties account for more than half of all abortions; women aged 20–24 obtain 33% of all abortions, and women aged 25-29 obtain 24%. Lewis believes that sex education is not necessary, as long as there are contraception methods and abortion available in the United States. But according to the statistics above, parents need to educate their young kids about sex and the consequences and hardships they could face, but also teach them to effectively use the contraception methods that are available because in these times, sex is not a taboo anymore, like it was in prior centuries. Schools should also contribute to the education of young kids about sex, and how they can practice safe sex or abstinence instead of just touching base on the topic from a health class perspective because it would help teenagers and young adults realize the responsibility that’s involved with being sexually active, and how they can practice having safer sex. As adults, we cannot prevent or deprive a teenager from having sex; we would have to lock them in a cell or be with them at all times. But we have to admit that sex is part of our nature, and all we can do is inform our teenagers so they can act as they choose with the…

With over half of all sexually transmitted diseases being reported among young people, it is of upmost importance that those working with teenagers, where it concerns sexuality, be prepared to teach them about the importance of protecting themselves from STD’s by promoting the use of condoms as counseling abstinence will not stop teens from having sexual intercourse. The Catholic Church refuses to promote the use of condoms. Therefore, it is even more important, when looking at the imperial evidence and outcomes from statistics when condoms are used as a preventative measure for STD’s, for the Catholic nurse to put aside her own religious and moral beliefs in favor of teaching the significance of using condoms for the prevention of sexually transmitted diseases and unplanned pregnancies. Furthermore, it is of this author’s opinion that no nurse who has protected a young person by preventing pregnancy or an STD, through comprehensive sex education and counseling that teenager to use condoms, should ever feel any moral distress or be persecuted by her congregation for doing the right…

A family swept up in Migrant Tide, resting up on an open field in the dawn of the morning. The woman in center is the main focus of the picture, sitting very upset with her head down, which reflects the idea of that how she is worried about the future and what it might hold for them, while holding a sleeping child in her lap. The picture captures a very sad moment. The woman has dark brown hair, which are tied up in a messy way and wearing a pink warm sweater with a gray scarf around her neck. The small child in her lap is sleeping soundly as he is too young to understand the situation at hand, he is wearing a sky blue jacket with a hoodie, has short dark brown hair, long lashes and a small nose. I don't agree with most of what the author says. When the author brings up abortion, they state "Liberals are so convinced that abortion is the best choice for women experiencing unexpected pregnancy..." Liberals are pro-choice, not pro-abortion. They want to respect the mother's decision, whether it is abortion or keeping the baby. Secondly, in the school choice paragraph, liberals want to fund the schools, for example, those in low-class neighborhoods, to prevent them from closing down and/or funding more classes. Still, the author did fail to provide credible sources to support their arguments, making their essay hard to stick by.…

A choice is a choice; it is as simple as that. Abortion is a huge controversial issue in the United States that many people disagree on. In the essay, “Owning up to Abortion” Ehrenreich believes that women should not keep in the dark about their abortion, but instead own up to it. Although abortion may be frowned upon by some people, no one should be entitled to judge another women because of their choice. No woman should feel ashamed of having an abortion because it is her choice and no one should make her feel like her choice is invalid.…

"Why don't I just get an abortion?" Maria asked her husband. "You absolutely won't, I won't let you kill my child. We'll work this out; we'll make the payments to the hospital little by little," replied Daniel in disbelief. Maria was contemplating getting an abortion because she and Daniel had virtually no money. Daniel felt they could work through it. Abortion is the worst route to take when it comes down to a choice. Abortion is a provoked termination, or annihilation, of a pregnancy and the removal of an embryo or fetus. Not only is it a termination of an embryo but it is also harmful to the woman, one harmful aspect is that it increases the chance of breast cancer; and most of all abortion is the killing of a child, whether born or not, and therefore should be illegal.…

In the twenty-first century, everyone wants what they want, when they want it. Our culture is obsessed with immediacy. Because of our human nature, we want to be able to choose everything, even our consequences, despite our action. Sometimes a person getting what they desire is a good thing, but it can also be bad. There are many choices on debate. and one of them is a mother’s choice to keep or kill her baby. Seemingly linked to that, is the choice to be pregnant at all. Although the rampant use of birth control among young women has caused uproar in society because of its relation to abortion and religious and health reasons, it is important to know exactly what kind of birth control is being discussed, how it works, and why people are against it. A few more facts would be that since abortions have been legalized there has been around “53 million abortions, so about 1.4 millions per year. Also it mentions that women have 0.6 in 100,000 chance of dying from a legal abortion while the risk of giving birth is 14 times higher. Also that there have been more US state abortion restrictions were enacted between 2011 and 2013 (205 in total) than were adopted during the whole previous decade”(Para. 1) .
