My Most Valuable Lessons Learned In Sports

Sports have embodied many valuable lessons in my life that I use on and off the track. The three most valuable lessons it has taught me is how to be a leader, how to work with others, and being graceful even when you don’t like the outcome of certain events.
Through the participation of sports I have learned different leadership skills that impact the lifestyle that I live today on and off the track. I utilize the leadership skills I learned in sports by becoming the Senior Class Treasurer. Being the treasurer makes underclassmen look up to you and want to follow in your footsteps. The leadership skills has also impacted my volunteer activities, I teach second grade at a summer camp every summer which is why I utilize the leadership skills to keep the kids in line, and help them make good choices starting from a young age. Besides the leadership skills I have put to work in my community, I also use the skill to help motivate our school track team to do and be the best they can. I lead them in running and warm ups, and I help them realize their full potential.
. . like they say teamwork makes the dream work. In track I use teamwork to ensure success on the track with my relay team. I work together with three other people, and push them to try their hardest to help us be successful. In my community, I use the element of teamwork to collaborate with fellow teachers at the summer camp I volunteer at. We use teamwork to help efficiently plan activities and lessons for the children. I also use the teamwork aspect learned from sports at school; we had to decide on which class shirts to order so we came together with each other to reach a mutual agreement on which shirt design to
