My Nursing Goals
I am a very determined person. I have very high goals for myself. Delivering my sister’s baby made me want to be a nurse. I feel like I am going to change my major while I am here. I think me, writing down my plans for this class, will help me stay on track. Also if I do not understand something I will already have a plan on how I can understand it better. I think if I did not have the motivation I would not be getting my school work done or coming to class. Some of my weaknesses as a student, I tend to turn in my work late I tend to stay to myself when I do not understand something. Another weakness is I dislike reading out loud because if I do not know how to say a word I feel dumb in a way and I stumble over my word’s. My reading is not …show more content…
If one of my classmates need help I will help them the best way I can. I am not very not very good at time management. I think when I get myself in a routine I will be able to manage better. I am a big procrastinator, but I feel like I am getting a lot better at it. My schedule this semester is full. Monday’s and Wednesday's I have three classes. Tuesday’s and Thursday’s I have two classes. I did that because I wanted to get the ball rolling with my nursing classes so it would not have to take me even longer than what I have to do. I am taking a stress management class so I think that will help me lower my stress this semester. Also I think talking to my teachers and classmates if I need any help. I say any time is best for me to study for me. I say that because I can just pick up my books and start studying I just need to stay focused. I do not have a quiet place to study because I have yo have some type of noise when I am studying or I would not be able to stay focus. Some habits that helped me be successful is talking to my teachers or keep reminding myself on what I need to be done. I hope to learn how to understand a text better. Also to make my reading

The academic pathway I will follow begins with an Associate in Science in the Traditional nursing program from Valencia College and I plan to graduate at the end of the fall semester in 2019. Then I plan to transfer to UCF to earn my Bachelor’s of Science in nursing in the ASN to BSN program. Graduation for BSN will be after the fall semester in 2022. After I achieve my BSN I will begin working for two years and then I will attend graduate school at the University of South Florida in the Nurse Anesthesia program in Spring of 2025 and completion will be after the spring semester of 2027. This goal is important to me because it paves the road to the future of my life. After about 20 years of school work in my entire life, all the headaches, stress, essays, and projects, that relate to school will all come to an end. Throughout the journey of academics, I will derive my motivation with mental self-questioning of “Where am I headed?” Focus is one of my strengths that keep me on my path and never let me forget my purpose. Bad habits, such as procrastination, will work against me in school. Taking the initiative by using an agenda, and putting away distractions will allow me to overcome my…

During Summer 2015, I was in the calm waters of Lake Michigan, preparing to try wake-boarding for my first time. My Dad had me hooked up to our rose-red WaveRunner and he asked me if I was ready. My life jacket was pulling on my throat a little bit so I pulled it back down, and said “Yes, let's go!” He took off and I was yanked out of the water! Somehow I managed to stay standing, and we kept going. My wake board was drifting a little too far left so I pushed my left foot forward, thus learning how to align with the center of our wake. Unfortunately, about five seconds later, a wave collided with our wake, forming displacement in the water, and I fell back down. Luckily I was not hurt and I would go on to keep trying for the rest of…
