My Nursing Goals
Nursing is a profession that you are always learning something new. Being a nurse can be tough and challenging, but it is also fulfilling and gratifying at the same time. Nurses personify health care and leave a lasting impression on patients and families. A patient doesn't always remember which doctor saw them but they always remember their nurse.

I didn't plan on being a nurse; it was actually a career I never would have imagined my-self doing. I worked at a bank when I was younger, but it was just a job and paid bills. I went to work to pay bills not to learn or enjoy what I was doing; it was a job not a party. My reputation of advocacy provides my superiors with the faith that I will always do my very best. I offer an environment of trust in which my patients are empowered by my actions and my honesty. I pro-mote empowerment for my patients focusing on the most important thing and following through. My goals are to be committed and accountable for all my actions, to provide safe care and treat all people with respect, and to be known as an expert in my field. I have observed many pitfalls in edu-cation and innovation that have led patients to longer hospital stays and increased dissatisfaction with the healthcare system. This has become more evident at my current position, as a Vascular Access Nurse. On a daily basis, I am excepted to find innovative ways to provide intravenous access to patients. Education and honest communication are key to helping patients to achieve the best outcome. I have learned that promoting health and wellness to a community lead to less hospital admissions and healthier people. I am a dedicated patient advocate, hardworking, and know the key to moving forward is knowledge and education.

I was led to the field of nursing where I have found limitless knowledge and fulfillment. Nurs-ing has offered me so many great opportunities and has allowed me to provide care to many peo-ple I have received all these great gifts from being a nurse and know that I could use the educa-tion I receive with a MSN in Nursing Innovation to give back to the community.
