Gross motor skills are large movements of the body that permit locomotion through and within the environment (McDevitt, pp. 164-165). Some examples of fine motor skills would be, tying shoes, zipping and unzipping, using scissors, drawing, writing, doing puzzles, coloring, e.t.c. Examples of gross motor skills would be running, walking, climbing up a tree, throwing a baseball, dribbling a basketball, jumping. Gross motor skills can be altered by playing video games excessively. Teddy’s fine motor skills are mainly writing, drawing, cutting with scissors, holding a book, holding a pencil. Teddy also writes very quickly, he is usually one of the first to finish the task at hand. Teddy’s gross motor skills are walking, running, skipping, jumping, hopping. Teddy doesn’t have any trouble with any fine or gross motor skills as far as I can tell. Teddy is able to eat food by himself, most likely able to dress himself, drawing shapes, folding paper and many more. Children who do have trouble with fine and gross motor skills get the attention they need to excel at
