As a reader, I have noticed that reading enhanced my analytical thinking and increased my vocabulary. About myself, I learned that I can value the purpose of a text and start thinking about further questions and imaginations. I’m good in fast reading and catching main ideas while scanning texts, and not bad at all in knowing the right phrases that could be quoted from the given author (which I thought could be difficult at that start of the course). Regarding the reading assignments, I did all of them. Although I knew I will feel a little shy and will not read my notes during class, I wrote and brought them every time an active reading was assigned. My strengths as a reader are many, most of the times I’m able inspect the meaning and hidden meaning that the writer is aiming to, and also I’m good in summarizing and understanding the text main ideas without having to read it twice or more. My weaknesses as a reader are not too much, however I get bored and my attraction get distracted at some point of a text that is repeated or not really interesting so I could start jumping over ideas or just reading them without thinking. About myself as a writer I have learned that I can leave the reader of my essay with a clear message and touch him the way I want. My writing skills has developed in many ways, this course was the best method to teach me how to properly cite sources, how to write without plagiarizing, how to convince and how to inform along with writing a correct thesis statement. Also I learned how to write a claim and an academic essay without any slang words or contractions. My strengths as a writer can be summarized as follow, I’m always aware from using slang words, I know how to properly cite sources according to MLA, I’m good in searching for books and researches online, and finally I’m good in writing essays that reflect clear analytical and critical thinking with good grammar and as a result of
