Your alarm clock wakes you with a recording of your favorite band. As you open your eyes, your ceiling screen displays the weather, time, countdown to the school shuttle arriving, as well as any current news. As your feet touch the ground, your path to the insta-changa lights up allowing you time to wake up. As you walk into the metallic tube, your dress choices according to the weather come up in front of you. You choose the one you are drawn to and immediately are completely dressed. You then move to the escalator that takes you directly to the kitchen chute where your waffles pop out, hot and ready just the way you like them. As you eat quietly you head to your…
Capital punishment throughout history has had many faces in our society. In the early twentieth century capital punishment was viewed as an integral part of the criminal justice system. In the United States alone approximately thirteen thousand people have been legally executed sine the colonial times (ACLU, 2003). By the 1930's up to 150 people were executed yearly, because of various legal challenges the execution rate was almost zero by 1967. In 1972, the U.S. Supreme Court banned the practice of capital punishment, citing the death penalty as it was practiced, cruel and unusual punishment arbitrarily administered by the courts and thus unconstitutional in Furman v. Georgia (Costanzo, 18). In 1976, in Gregg v. Georgia, the Supreme Court reinstated the death penalty stating that under guided discretion the courts again could impose capital punishment for crimes such as murder with special circumstances (Costanzo, 21). Since having the death penalty reinstated in 1976 by the Supreme Court, society has a whole still favors capital punishment, but because of the nature of the punishment there is still a split among society as to the appropriateness of the sanction. In today’s society there are those that are apposed and there are those that are in favor of the death penalty, but the majority still views capital punishment as a staple in the criminal justice system. Public opinion polls show approximately seventy percent of the U.S population currently approves of the use capital punishment (ACLU, 2003). Even with a high approval rate among the population in the United States there is still a large population of people with religious arguments against capital punishment, catholic society by the nature of humanity and evolution has realized that capital punishment is less and less a moral and ethical punishment for capital crimes such as murder. In examining the history of the Catholic Church and the Catholic Church’s moral teachings in regards to the death penalty…

I am sure that many of you have been on a car trip! Experiencing the children, who are trying to annoy the parents as they are either hungry or need to go to the bathroom o have an urge to do particular thing. On the other hand there are the parents trying to calm down the children or just screaming at them. THE CAR TRIP is exactly a poem, which describes a life experience we have all been through. However every trip is different, the characters in the car all have individual personalities and this is way when performing this type of poems the performers really has a lot of techniques they can chose form, to really make it their own poem. Many ideas were able to get across, as we were a small group of 4 (Isabella, Duncan, Luis and I). The ideas and techniques of how and why were going to express the mother, the two kinds and the narrator benefit our performance to make the audience laugh. We wanted this reaction from the audience to make them understand that even though a car ride might be a little frustrating, especially for the parents a car tripcan still be an enjoyable adventure.…
It seemed like 100th time I've wrestled in the PA/NJ, but for some reason I was very eager for the usual wrestling trip. This time, not only was I wrestling in a tournament, but I got invited to tour the #1 wrestling team in the country as well as one of the top academic prep communities in world. This school is one of the best, due to how well they bring in students and wrestlers. This includes North America go here, Nigerians, Russians, Koreans, Cambodians, and even some Middle Eastern Groups. This Preparatory school thrives in three sports, field hockey, rowing, and of course wrestling. So as you can probably see i was extremely excited, yet nervous of what to come. This is a big step in my life even if they didn't accept me. I just got…
For my service I went to Atlanta with my mentor and some others and fed the homeless. My mentor prepared sandwiches, chips and water the night before. Saturday morning after he picked us up we went to the Quiktrip and met a homeless man that was on a journey to a shelter in Atlanta. He told us he had come from Houston all the way to Georgia. Meeting him and hearing about his life made me appreciate life and be thankful for my family. On the way to Atlanta he told us about how he was in the army and his family had abandoned him, the stories were so sad but very eye opening.…
All my life I have felt like an underdog, I was the last picked for everything in elementary school. No one ever wanted me to be on their team because I was not good enough. In football, I would miss the final catch that could win the game. In soccer as the goalie, people would score goals on me like it was nothing to it. In basketball, I could never hit the clutch contested three-pointer.…
The best trips that my family has taken, would definately be to Disney World. Planning each detail six months in advance and having the children involved always made it an adventure. A couple of weeks prior to leaving, a party was planned for the children to provide motivation for the upcoming trip. Also, as a parent having the satisfaction of knowing how exciting these vacations were for them, was worth it all. Although, the children have grown older, they still speak of the enjoyment they received from our trips to Disney World.…

I want to take this time to share my story about my transition back in the civilian world. In 1990, I was honorable discharge from United States Army this was during peace time in which I had to leave the military due to family hardship. At this time I received changes of duty station to return back to Korea which was my second tour of duty. I just had my fourth child and she was only 10 months old. My only option was to leave fourth children with my mother. I felt that was just to much for my mother at that time. While out the military I have a difficulty time adjusting back to civilian life. During this time I was married to a soldier, so I was still connected to the military life. But transition back to civilian living was hard for me. I did attended a class on resume writing and I obtained a job as a Certified Nursing Assistant at the local Nursing homes were I did my training at. My emotions was somewhat abnormal in which I felt like I was abandon and depression was their also. Even though I was working in civilian job I crave the advantage that I experience with my military job. My transition took about seven months for me fully accept the civilian sector way of life. Since I like the medical field I enrolled at Central Texas College and received a diploma as a Licensed Vocational Nurse. But I still missed being in the military. But the military provide me with a solid foundation for employment, because I the military helped to adapt to any…
Road tripping is supposed to be fun and exciting. It gives me an opportunity to jump in the car and explore something new. In the summertime 2008 when I got my 99’ Dodge Intrepid back from the previous accident, I begun my road trip to Yellowstone National Park in early morning. As I drove down the road, I soon realized that I had never been anywhere alone before. This was a new feeling for me, one of strength and fear rolled into one. My trip was nerve wrecking because I faced a certain problems with my car that I have never experienced before, but it taught me a lot about how to maintain my car.…
