My Adventure to Canada Have you ever seen one of the Seven Wonders of the World? Well I have and being able to go see one of the Seven Wonders of the World was an experience of a lifetime. I got the chance to visit Niagara Falls and had an amazing time with my family. Not only did I see Niagara Falls, but I was in a completely different country. Most people want to have excitement in their lives, something they will remember for a long time. Well this is definitely the way to experience an unforgettable vacation! In the beginning of the vacation it had started out a little rough, but as it progressed it turned out to be the best vacation yet, with the long frightening drives through the mountains, frequent pit stops, and all the greatest things Canada has to offer! Our adventure started out in the middle of summer on a Monday afternoon. It took us a while to load up the van, but once we did, we hit the road immediately. I drove through the dangerous mountain roads of Virginia and West Virginia. Driving through the mountains of the Appalachian gave me a better experience and taught me to drive in heavy traffic, and curvy, slippery roads. The scenery was breathtaking, one look at the beautiful mountain ridges is a memory I’ll never forget. At one point we drove through a tunnel built though the mountains. This caused our GPS to lose connection leading us to getting lost for about an hour. Luckily, the signal picked up and the adventure continued. There was so much traffic on the highway. There had been an accident right in front of me while I was driving 65mph. I suddenly came to a complete stop within in a matter of seconds. If I had pushed the brakes just a second later we all would have been done for. This scared me a lot because my whole family was in the car with me. Finally, 16 hours later we arrived to the New York’s view of Niagara Falls. After having my legs cramped, getting lost, and almost

We wanted to go somewhere we had not been and make it an adventure; we asked some of our friends if they would want to go with us. We decided to go to Fort Fisher and go for the weekend. Our friend Raven was able to go with us and after minimal planning we headed towards the beach. The ride down there was very eventful. We had stopped in Garner to get food, I am convinced it might be the worst town in North Carolina because while there, a man rode a golf cart into the KFC/Taco Bell parking lot, we also witnessed a man being detained by a police officer in the parking lot. When we tried to leave and get back on the Highway there was so much traffic I almost had an anxiety attack. After we had arrived in Wilmington we almost ran out of gas, because I forgot to check to see how much we had. It was a terrifying experience. (We did find a gas station and did not run out of gas though) When we finally got to Fort Fisher, it was really cold and windy there but we still had a lot of fun. We walked around the museum and saw how big the ammunition that was used was; there was a torpedo that was as big as my shin/calf and a canon ball as big as my head. We saw dioramas of the fort being built and later reacted them on the trail. We walked along the trail and halfway through realized that we went around the wrong way because all the signs were facing away from us. We sat on…

Canada, as a rising country, encountered several defining moments during its history. Canada’s involvement in NATO, NORAD, and the United Nations were the three biggest defining moments in Canadian history that cannot be forgotten. These were the most defining moments in Canadian history since Canada started to become known worldwide because of their contribution towards international relations. Prime Minister Mackenzie King once said “Canada should play an active role in international affairs after World War Two” (Connolly 14) and after that Canada started playing crucial roles in world affairs. Their first active role in international affairs was in the United Nations.…

I was sat squished in the back of one of the minivans with Sam, our treats and various forms of entertainment for the long ride sat between us. The drive was long and boring. We slept, played every car ride game possible and watched movies. The 806.2 miles seemed to take everlasting. We stopped for two nights at a hotel and took a day to go to an amusement park. My love for amusement parks was stronger than my urge to return home and after spending the day on roller coaster rides and eating cotton candy, I decided for a brief moment that maybe this trip wouldn't be so bad after…

We were almost through the state of North Carolina as we traveled on Interstate 95. It was rush hour and you could tell everyone was antsy and excited to get home. Cars traveled at 80 miles per hour, and some were even traveling faster than that. I could now see why it was ranked the fifth worst highway in North America. Cars were weaving in and out of traffic at over 90 miles per hour. Traffic was getting heavy. Listening to the radio, my dad and I sang along to a familiar song we both knew, “Yeah” by Usher. “Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!”, we both sang while he drove. My dad always loved this song, so we had the radio turned almost all the way up. The song ended and we turned the radio down. We had already been on the road for ten hours so we were beginning to get a little tired. It was almost 5:00 in the evening and we did not eat lunch, so we were both getting hungry as well. “Where do you want to stop for dinner?”, I asked him. My dad looked at the food signs next to the highway as I looked up places on my phone where we could grab a bite. Just as I was about to name off a few places where we could go, my phone flew out of my hand and my head jolted forward.…

My first big adventure came when I moved to Canada. I was born in Great Yarmouth, England and I lived there for the first five years of my life. To this day my English citizenship and heritage is a big part of who I am. Before moving to Canada, I moved to a small town in rural Maine. My family built the home we call “Old Brick” in 1812, and it is has been passed down ever since. I moved to Canada six months later, however we returned to Maine every summer. Living in Maine created a strong contrast to my life in Halifax and exposed me to people from different walks of life.…

We drove to the top of the slopes. It took us about 45 minutes and we were at an altitude of more than 12 000 feet. The sun made breathtaking views, and the air was as clean as a whistle. Sometimes you wondered if you would not be able to you catch your breath, but it just the height that made breathing for the first time so difficult. The adrenaline was growing and I was so afraid that I might have forgotten…

    My Italian Vacation

It was a long climb, probably the longest climb I have ever attempted, When I reached the top I felt that I would collapse any minute. My legs were numb, my clothes were all wet out of sweat and I was completely breathless. Even though I felt completely exhausted, the climb was well worth it. What I saw up there was a memorable and probably the most spectacular view I have ever seen. The wind blew at its strongest at the very top, pigeons were all over the place, and the Sun felt as if it's concentrating its light only at this very top. The view was the best part of it all, looking down at Rome from the very top of St. Peter's Basilica was and always will be a memory that I will never forget. It was this exact event that made me think to myself that I was glad to have come for this remarkable Italian adventure and I would never cease to forget such a wonderful vacation.…

Road tripping is supposed to be fun and exciting. It gives me an opportunity to jump in the car and explore something new. In the summertime 2008 when I got my 99’ Dodge Intrepid back from the previous accident, I begun my road trip to Yellowstone National Park in early morning. As I drove down the road, I soon realized that I had never been anywhere alone before. This was a new feeling for me, one of strength and fear rolled into one. My trip was nerve wrecking because I faced a certain problems with my car that I have never experienced before, but it taught me a lot about how to maintain my car.…
