My Unmanaged Time
Our day-to-day consists of a twenty-four hour interval. Which we share with sleeping, making our twenty-four hours less. We can’t add or take hours away from the twenty-four hour cycle that we have every day of our lives. We can’t control time, but we can control how we utilize our time. I tried my best avoiding social media during the day, avoided texting my friends when I got home. Fundamentally, I tried pushing what I know would keep me distracted and lose

Since I have started class it has been very difficult to manage my time between going to work and coming home to do my assignments that are due. To be more effective, I decide to make a list of the things I need to do and the date on which they are due on. Normally, I work about fifty to seventy hours a week, ten in the morning until eight or later at night. I typically do my assignments when I get home from work. When I have extra time I try to do some assignments before they are due so that it will keep me ahead in the class.…

I figured there are 24 hours in the day so that is plenty of time to study, work, be a father in my family and also get the rest necessary to carry out my week. My kids of course get the most time out of me, even when I’m studying I’m still a father and it does take its toll on my studying hours. In an effort to successfully balance my day I traded my sleep time with my study time which works out since I am a night owl anyway. Studying at night gives me the peace I need to get my studying done and with the kids asleep I can make up ground that I lost during the day, but where my studies rise my sleep falters just a little. Fortunately for me I sleep like a rock so I don’t really hear much when I am asleep and it does help when my fiancée would take care of the girls while I sleep. In more than a few ways I couldn’t maintain a healthy schedule without some assistance so I could only imagine what single fathers and mothers go through.…

Early on, from my freshman year forward, I learned the importance of balancing a schedule, committing to that schedule, and adjusting whenever necessary. My schedule consisted of organizational events, work study, and taking no less than 15 hours a semester. With a schedule as such, it could get very busy and even overwhelming at times, but it is part of what has allowed me to become the productive individual that I am today.
