Myers-Briggs Personality Type: Introverted Sensing Feeling Judging

After taking the Myers-Briggs personality type test, I received the ISFJ personality type: Introverted Sensing Feeling Judging. While reading the description for ISFJ, I could agree with what it was saying almost one hundred percent. The description stated that ISFJs by their desire to serve others and obtain the “need to be needed.” I found that this description fits me very well: I often feel the need to serve and be needed by others. I enjoy helping out in ministry, at home, and within other homes. For example, this past Thursday my boyfriend came home from his working training in Los Angeles, CA and he stated that he needed me to help him pack before he left to travel the states for work. While doing some of his laundry and packing his luggage, I found joy in serving him in this way.
According to the description, ISFJs are unappreciated for the work that they do. They prove themselves over and over that they can be relied on, yet those around them take them for granted. I can recall a time in my life when I was the secretary for my local student ministry. During that time, I was depended on heavily for certain tasks. I would perform the tasks to the best of my abilities, but I never seemed to get a thank you. But, I did get told to do extra tasks that were not in my job description. Despite feeling like I was taken for granted, I never went out of my way to give myself credit for certain tasks that the student ministry enjoyed.
